Rayman 3

Huh, so it's not an uncommon glitch or anything like that. Would still like to know what triggers it though. Spooked me the first time I saw it lol

This happens when holding up or left as the level starts. There is a small window where holding a direction can move Rayman before the start of level cutscene plays. Moving Rayman up or left at the start of this level will cause him to collide with the wall behind him. This wall has a weird property where it is set to be climbable, but for some reason when Rayman attempts to climb it, he will instead attach to a midair area a bit behind the wall:

So what is happening when this message appears, is that Rayman is being moved in the first few frames of the level starting to be touching this wall, the wall then teleports him out of bounds. The game then has a hardcoded failsafe for if Rayman goes out of bounds during the start of level cutscene, where it displays this message and teleports him back to where he is supposed to be.

Hello everyone!
I decided to join this forum since I figured you would all be the best audience for it: To celebrate Rayman 3's 20th anniversary, I decided to combine both the highest quality rips of both the video and audio that I could get, and put it together alongside some Youtube trickery to upload the best quality version of the intro you can now get on Youtube!
Here it is! Enjoy~!

So nostalgic <3 Thank you for this!

I know that the GOG version of Rayman 2 is the best because it uses nGlide and has less issues than the other versions.
I do not know about the differences between the versions of Rayman 3 but all I know is that the GOG version is DRM-free like any other GOG game

Oh, I see, thanks for the info. So, with the GOG version you own the files and gog doesn't need to check you identity everytime you play; with Ubisoft, the software needs to verify that the game is played by the user that bought it and the license to play it can be revoked at any moment (even thought Ubisoft says: "Purchasing the game will give you full ownership, including continued access even if you unsubscribe from Ubisoft+."). Or something like that?

Yeah, if you get the game on GOG you'll get an offline installer that you can carry everywhere and you can use it to install the game anywhere you want, also without an internet connection and there's no need to log in with your GOG account to play.
With the Ubisoft version though you'll always need Ubisoft Connect (Uplay) installed and log in with your Ubisoft account or the game won't run, to install the game you'll need an internet connection since it will download the game before installing it.
Ubisoft Connect has an offline mode that will let you play your games offline in case you do not have an internet connection :)

I see, thanks. Also, I assume you can't mod the version from the Ubisoft store (like use Better Rayman for widescreen support).

You can mod both versions, I've been modding Legends and Origins I downloaded through Ubisoft Connect for years and I can say I had no issues installing or editing the files of the games, also, in case you want to uninstall a mod you can verify the game files and if missing and modified are found it downloads them so you don't need to backup the original files or uninstall the mod manually :D

That's good to know .

At the moment I'm figuring out what are my ideal control settings for the game, I haven't played it in ages, too bad you can't use mouse clicks to fire, like in Rayman M.

I'm pretty happy with the default keyboard controls, though you'll need n-key rollover for things to work properly.

Yeah, you were right, I guess they're the default for a reason (I changed just one of the keys though). Btw, here is a close encounter of the Globox kind and another image where definitely nothing weird is going on .

Sometimes I forget that as much as Rayman is a kid-friendly franchise, the community is just as perverted as any other. :oops2:

And I love it.
