I don't recall it being overly hard. Longish, yes, but with enough variety to keep it from being boring, and each level is short enough.(Rayman 3 on gba is torture if you ask me)
There was an option to switch carts, but I use GBI since it syncs to the correct slightly lower framerate of the Game Boy (59.72Hz iirc) and this means it doesn't have any frameskip. In GBI, I have to just hold reset while changing the cart instead, which is fairly simple.Hah, I remember the days when I used to use the Game Boy Player as a kid a lot. I hated the eerie noise that sounded when I ejected the cartridge without turning off the Gamecube first though.
