Super mario galaxy 2

Got a pre-order with game for the Special tin edition. Don't much like 3D Mario so I probably won't play it. The New Super Mario Bros. ones are bloody rare nowadays.

They're apparently gonna have demos up for that at the MCM expo tomorrow so I'll try to have a go at that [Ubisoft are apparently not gonna show up this time btw].

Didn't get a change to play it at the expo because it was really busy plus I left early due to some...*private* problems with my cosplay.

Arrived today in the money tin, which has a slight dent which is a shame, but not too bad. Might actually try playing it after seeing the reviews it's got.

Edit -> Never played the first Galaxy but I gotta say, I've been playing this all day and it's extremely fun. TBH, I just realised the only other 3D Mario game I ever played was 64 DS which I grew to hate. Probably because of the controls making it almost impossible to get some stars. So I was wrong to bash all 3D versions of Mario.

This is the best Mario game yet; too bad nostalgia freaks like Stuttering Craig and the folks at Old Wizard will never admit that. SMB3 can't hold that title forever, you know.

That's the system's fault, not the game's. The DS controls just don't work for 3D platformers. Nothing could have been done to the control scheme to improve it anyway, unless you count switching the jump command to A, which is a ridiculous complaint since the A and B buttons are swapped.

Besides, I thought that the three new characters made up for the sloppy controls completely. Loved playing as blocky-as-hell Wario.

I played it here. Didn't like it. The original Galaxy was far more epic. I sat down with a friend (because I don't own a Wii) and played the second, then the first.

I never got any problems with Super mario 64 DS, i have all 150 stars in it.
I like that game more than SMG1, because in Super mario 64 (both versions) you can just explore things your own way, which is impossible for SMG1 and 2, they only have traced out paths to get stars.

The Cosmic Clones remind me of Dark Rayman...

Me too. They follow in your exact footsteps and die when you clear the challenge.

I wonder if Bowser has been taking lessons in the dark arts from Mister Dark? :mefiant:

I just got SMG2, i also found out that Dark mario is the same as Dark Rayman... maybe it's a tribute, or just a rip off.
It's very fun though, i'm at world 2.
I hate the size of world 1... it's just too small. :x

That's what I was saying, that maybe the reason I didn't like that game was because of the system.

Is anyone else seeing pokemon references?
I see Qwilfish in the water/ice galaxy in world 2, and i think the freezard is an Ho-Oh. (no i'm not poké addicted)

Clara told me there's a part on that game that Bad Marios act like Bad Rayman from Rayman 1, is that true?
