Didn't Crysis 2 get a major downgrade originally in terms of graphics to accommodate consoles? And then had an update later to rectify this for PC's?

Unfortunately it just seems to be poorly optimised, I can't think of any alternative. It only looks good when at native resolution, but then it's an awful frame rate. I get a very solid frame rate at 1050, but this looks awful and blurry.

No, they just spent a long time optimizing the engine to look nearly as good and to run on consoles. The PC version still looks as good as ever.

Incorrect, the engine and game were ridiculously optimized. The first game was the one that wasn't, so if you're able to run Crysis 1 no problem but Crysis 2 not so well, then it must be something on your end.
 
Meh, I can't think of any reason for the poor performance, maybe it's something to do with Origin. I used Steam for 1 and Warhead. Also would it have killed them to add options for AA?

CryEngine3 has built-in dynamic AA in the renderer, so that area is covered.

Hmm, I'm not sure why you would be getting a low framerate at all. Do the different graphic settings make any difference in performance?
 
I'm now thinking it might have something to do with the bootcamp drivers for my graphics card...

Finally got Battlefield 3 working, but if I change any of the settings it crashes, so I got it on auto settings. Each time I load it up it tells me my graphics driver's out of date, but I can't update it because of Apple.

Still using that one. Never really got into the habit of regularly upgrading my hardware, and this machine still runs most games on low-medium graphics just fine anyway. It does feel really old though.

Yep, backups, or older software compatibility such as old school gaming. One of them is a netbook and a laptop I keep by my bed all the time and a small laptop for battery life and even a couple of old IBM 5150 computers, IBM PCJr and such. :bad:
 
Mine is a tiny little Sony Vaio. Insert some list of specifications here, I don't care about those. Good enough, I say.
 
I heard of a Laptop that runs at 4,1GHz :o . That's too fast, I guess. Mine runs at 3,8GHz and I find it enough.
 
Speaking of frequency... I did have my home desktop overclocked to 4.5GHz but since the upgrades and reinstall of everything I never got back to it, since it can be a time consuming process to ensure stability at the right voltage. In other words, I don't have the patience right now. :P
