Re: Rayman 3
The style of some commercials it's different to the game FMV. The models of the characters on the FMV looks or are actually the in-game models, while the commercials use renders based or maybe the same renders from artworks (like box arts or some promotional).
Maybe the FMV were made by the game development team, while the commercials were made by a different studio.

Re: Rayman 3
I feeling that although the Rayman 3 is a significantly long game, is shorter than Rayman 2.
you see, levels like The fairy Council and Clearleaf forest, are level the is feeling longer than some Rayman 2 level.
but levels like The Longest Shortcut and The Summit Beyond the Clouds are the shortest worlds of the game and are feelings shorter than a average Rayman 2 level.
also, I thinking that worlds for example, The Desert of the Knaaren and The Summit Beyond the Clouds are the fusion of two worlds for become one world.
The Desert of the Knaaren is the fusion of Deadlands and Lair of the Knareen. The Summit Beyond the Clouds is the fusion of Summit of Fury and The looming sea.
possibly the game was planned with more worlds but for some reason many worlds were cut or were combined with other worlds.

Re: Rayman 3
For me The Longest Shortcut felt eternal because of got stuck for a long time in a part of the level, when I finally made it to The Summit Beyond the Clouds I couldn't believe it.

Re: Rayman 3
That feels annoying as hell. A lot like the last Reflux boss battle (Phase 3), only worse. I understand completely why they removed it.
Re: Rayman 3
It's really cool that they got it functioning again.
It would have been a bit annoying though that being said. I remember seeing it in the Madder trailer but wonder why it never worked in the actual game? It seems like all they did was deactivate the code for it which makes sense, I would love to see more Rayman 3 related discoveries in the future.

Re: Rayman 3
Well, I have to agree with this YouTube commenter:
It's a lot clearer now what they were actually going for here – initially Leptys is an enemy (just like everyone else in the Desert), and, as dr_st noted, the sequence foreshadows part of the final boss fight. But yes, this would have been too much, unless they added a lot more cover, which would kind of defeat the purpose anyway. So instead of reworking it, probably due to deadline pressure, they turned it into a segment where the player gets a bit of a break.
Nice work Robin, you've given us lots to think about as usual!
It's always seemed strange to have this low-pressure environment (at least if you're not trying to get all the Matuvus!) in a series of really intense levels. They could have been trying to give us a break, but it makes it kind of forgettable, when this is supposed to be the player's first introduction to Leptys, who ends up being a very important agent in the game's plot.PhoenixKev wrote:Interesting, i've always thought this part was weirdly easy for something thats supposed to be a very important location, having the Leptys statue shoot lightning at you makes a lot of sense.

Nice find, thanks for sharing!
Though I must agree with dr_st that it looks incredibly annoying, glad it didn't make it to the final game.

Re: Rayman 3
I must go and add something about it to the wiki…
EDIT: Done, English and French…
Also, not related, but looking at the map with Raymap I just realized that the singular "Teensy" was actually used by the devs of Rayman 3! I'd always kinda thought that that 'y' was an innovation of the UbiArt era…
EDIT2: I guess it also explains why there are two Lockjaw cans so close together, since with that thing zapping it would be unfair to send the player back to the first can if the power ran out!

Re: Rayman 3
The laser thing looks pretty interesting. I wonder how much it would have annoyed scorers with all those point deductions, it would equate to multiple restarts.

Has anyone seen this before (it is from RZ), it looks like a target from the Razoff Circus minigame.

Re: Rayman 3
Yeah, it was an icon that was used in demos to select a level. But I don't think it's used in the final version of the game
