Re: Tonic Trouble
Kelvin: Actually I don't agree with you, Tonic Trouble started as a tech demo for trying out the engine for the new Rayman game, and shortly after Rayman 2 came out it they released TT too. Compared TT to R2 it's almost the same, same body types, same controls, and it has more connection then a punny mosquito cameo. Beyond Good & Evil is a separated project, no similarities, and if Mosquito is in there somewhere, that's not a cameo, that's an easteregg, it's hidden, but you don't need to search for Rayman or for the Alien salesman/armyman in both TT and R2, you can see them without searching after them.
TT more like a step brother for R2 while BG&E is not, I mean TT came out because of R2, if there's no R2 then there's no TT, and if there's no TT then there's no R2.

Re: Tonic Trouble
I'm going with Jman, the problem is that Tonic Trouble isn't Rayman, if we just make an article about cameo's in other games then we can include Tonic Trouble and beyound good & evil, and it doesn't matter if you got to search for a cameo, it is and stays a cameo. Like the robo pirates and Ly in Rayman 3, they are cameo's and they are hidden.
Re: Tonic Trouble
You deffiniatelly don't feel the difference between cameos and easter eggs.Joshua822 wrote: if you got to search for a cameo, it is and stays a cameo.
Re: Tonic Trouble
I know what a easter egg is -_-.
The point is, cameo or not, tonic trouble isn't Rayman 2.

Nobody sayed it is.Joshua822 wrote:I know what a easter egg is -_-.

Re: Tonic Trouble
But this site is deticated to Rayman, not Tonic Trouble. We should make a cameo article.
Re: Tonic Trouble
I suggested that because like in the Grolgoth salesman topic it is said, R2 is inspired by Tonic Trouble, I mean if there's no Tonic Trouble, probably the game would look like the first version of Rayman 2 the unlocked level what shows how would have looked like. Despite I would have liked the first version, it's the major reason of Rayman 2's look, actually, it's the source of the game, in many sense.

Re: Tonic Trouble
How do we know that TT isn't in the same world as Rayman? Same company, same type of creatures, and, in three cases, same characters.

Re: Tonic Trouble
Ed has a cameo in the TV series.
And the Grolgoth Salesman isn't a cameo or an Easter egg, he's an actual character with an important part in the game.

Re: Tonic Trouble
I would hardly call the TV series canon. It had what? 4 episodes? It's not even a finished product. It hardly even has the same characters. And as you said, it was just a cameo anyway.
And the Grolgoth Salesman's role is actually very minor. They could have easily just said that the pirates built it themselves, which may have been the case originally, seeing as it has the pirate logo on it and has pirate weapons (coincidence much?). He's probably just in there because they decided it might be fun to have a little tonic trouble cameo in there.

Re: Tonic Trouble
Fair enough, but the fact is a character from Tonic Trouble is also in Rayman 2. What the implications of this are, I'm not sure. It could be that TT is on the same planet as Rayman, or it could be that it's in an alternate universe, and the Grolgoth Salesman came from the TT universe and somehow entered the Rayman universe. Or maybe that TT character and R2 character are completely different and unconnected, despite looking nearly identical. Who knows?

Re: Tonic Trouble
They can't be the same planet. I'm pretty sure I read TT is actually on earth, and why would the Grolgoth Salesman sell the Grolgoth to Razorbeard if it was going to help his own planet get destroyed?

Re: Tonic Trouble
Is every video game that takes place on earth perfectly realistic? I think I read that on Wikipedia though, so don't take it too seriously until we have a more reliable source.

Re: Tonic Trouble
We could just as easily say that Rayman takes place on earth.

Re: Tonic Trouble
I've also found some other sites stating TT to have taken place on Earth. But i'm certain the Rayman games don't take place on Earth for reasons I shouldn't need to explain (and won't).
