It's a Paluchard.
And in part 1 of TSBTC, one saves you if you jump into the water.

Yeah, I know, just forgot to post it :oops2: (well, I actually posted it in another topic... but which?)
Hmm... maybe there's a hidden Paluchard in every level? Da da dum...

Polish: from paluch ‘thumb’ (augmentative of palec ‘finger’), hence a nickname used to denote a small person or a dwarf, or possibly a descriptive nickname for someone with a deformed or missing thumb.
Does "Paluchard" have something to do with this?

I guess that may be where the name derived from.

It's indeed true that paluch means finger. But... Well, this is a coincidence in my opinion.

But the monsters are whale-like beasts with a hand as their head. They grab you with their head, which is a hand with eyes on it. I think?

Ah yes it's in a lake or something and you only see it for a split second. Good eye.

"Paluch" is a finger in polish language.

In French, « paluche » is an old slang term for the word “hand”. Hence the name of the creature.

I'd say it's just to make it into a name.

What kind of person registers on a small French forum about an old French videogame with the name "Semen", then makes a single post telling us that "paluch" is Polish for "finger"?

A freak, that's who.

B2T, would you like to see a 3D game when Rayman can split? (Level with only hands, only shoes, etc.)
