Rayman Glitches

Something similar happened to me as well. I hit Mr. Stone, and he suddendly dissapeared afterwards.

By the way, something weird happened to me in Rayman 3 today; I played the Land of the Livid Dead, and arrived at the point in Part 3 where you have to fight the Heckler. I hit him with a charged HMF, resulting in his armor to fly up, but when I accidently ran into him, instead of just losing health once for coming to close to him, I got stuck inside of the Heckler. That resulted in me continuously losing health, and in the end, I died because I was unable to get out of the Heckler. I had full health and my health bar was as long as it gets from breaking 54 Cages, yet I lost all of it within a few seconds.

Has that happened to anyone else before?
 
If memory serves, if Rayman is stuck within a hazard, such as lava, the rate of his health loss increases exponentially, what may start as 1 hp damage may end up being 5 hp after a couple of seconds, and so on. I've never been stuck in a Heckler though, so I can't say whether or not this applies.

Either ways, I'd like some help from members. I've had plans to make glitch articles for Rayman games, before the Wiki went down, I'd started one for Rayman 2. However, that's only a small stepping stone, this thread has found and compiled quite a few glitches in its run, and I know some members are well acquainted with others due to being speedrunners, high-scorers etc. With the Wiki now back up, I'd be most grateful if you folks could help me get the glitches we've found thus far and document them on articles like the one I've made for Rayman 2.
 
There's also the glitch with the Powder Keg Hatches where if you stand in front of one as it spawns a Powder Keg, it will push you through the wall of the world - Adsolution is the expert on this one though.
 
Haha I wonder if you can use that to get to the last, hidden Cage of the Fairy Glade.

This makes me wonder: if a Henchman were to lunge at you with his hook when you are sufficiently close to the wall, would you clip through?
 
Indeed, that's quite funny.

Maybe it's due to characters not having the same order between the world stage and the level stage. Have you been able to reproduce this one, or did it happen only nce in a while?
 
no, the sequence I recorded there was just the swapping part... but it is for the whole entire part of my gameplay O.O....
 
Right, I've started combing and finding glitches posted in the past, Plenty to go still before I've got everything here, so please do lend a hand in helping me compile the glitches we've found thus far.

Rayman 1 and Spinoffs:
I found out a really wacky glitch in Rayman 60 Niveaux Inédits, on Cavern - Level 10 - Very Hard. After going down to a lower part of the level (After the photographer) if you fall on the spikes and/or give a fist to the second Spinning Blue Spiked Ball Rayman does the victory dance while sliding to the left part of the screen and the level finishes. :boon:

Rayman 2 and ports:
The 1st one is called the Reappearing Robo-Pirate. I'll explain. Go back into the Iron Mountains, over the bridge, past the Robo-pirate, and past the rotating table/switches. Some of you may have noticed this surprise, but there are two yellow pirates just before the next red one. (Hint: you can see something sticking out of the ground, a leg.) Battle them and the red pirate, get the golden gloves, go across the creek, through the tunnel, and battle the next red robo-pirate. Then another red pirate drills out of the ground. This one has the mega-beams of the purple pirate in RR. This red robo-pirate is from the DC, PC, DS, and N64 ports(versions) of R2. Defeat him, but go over to the side of the dam. Be careful and before the hill curves up a bit, you will see 2 corner to the left and right. Go over to the right side and he will reappear. If this doesn't work, go and battle your way to the top of the dam. For the second glitch, don't get rid of the next yellow robo-pirate. Just work your way upward. Get rid of the purple pirates that parachute downward. Quickly use look mode to gaze down to see the red pirate from before has reappeared. :!: :?:

The 2nd glitch is called The Misfiring Glitch. When you come to the last yellow robo-pirate in the level in that tight space with the net up to the dam, he will fire at you.Go around him once/twice or try to climb onto the net and jump behind him. In both cases, you need to get behind him. If it works,(it should work) he will keep firing fire in the direction you came in. Now you can destroy the robo-pirate.

There's also another glitch in the Menhir Hills when you revisit the room Clark was sick in. Rayman is invisible and running backwards through the walls. No one knows what causes it. The only way to stop it is to jump of punch.

Also the big pirate glitch that 1st occurs in the Echoing Caves and in The Top of The World. I don't know about Windows 7/XP , but on W. Vista, there's an alternate way to fix this. Right click on the R2 icon and click properties. Go to Compatibility. Click the very last setting, "Run this program as administrator." If you have multiple users, click "show settings for all users." Click yes on the pop-up window. Do the same thing,"Click the very last setting, 'Run this program as administrator.' " I don't know about W7, but it should be similar if it can handle R2.

Go to Fairy Glade and swim to the rectanglualr dead-end (near the waterfall), and rise to the surface. Now hold the dive button, but press nothing else (i.e. DO NOT ACTUALLY DIVE). If a fair number of ripples start forming around Rayman on the water, continue to hold down the dive button but also press the camera button (1st person, X button). It's a bit tricky to do and is usually fluked but what may happen is that you see lots more ripples and Rayman's air gauge appear (make sure it didin't appear before hand). Now if you let go of the dive and camera buttons, you should see Rayman floating above the water, but still swimming. And you should also be able to swim around the Fairy Glade IN THE AIR.
... but there's a catch. You don't have unlimited air.

The glitch can be un-triggered (?) if you dive under the water and then re-surface (before you run out of air).


...pretty complicated (that happens when I try to explain a new glitch), but if you try and pull it off it should make more sense.

That glitch where the egg doesn't spawn in the last part of first level of DOTK in the PS2 version.
In the part of the Knaarens,in the secret room containing a green gem,and with two Knaaren hands,if you jump in the corner of the room,sometimes you fall thought ground! in a black hole!

Does the speedruning glitch and skips glitches are in the post too?
Also for the fourth glitch of Rayman 2 (jumping guardian), it's a mupen64 emulation glitch, that's why there never been any Rayman 2 TAS (or only IL)
 
I'm compiling glitches that happen on legitimate hardware, but it won't hurt to mention emulator glitches, if anything else it can prove handy knowledge for the Emulation thread.

It's not emulation glitch, it's working on GameCube, I tested it (Rayman 3 per example)
 
Nice compilation Master. Don't forget though that the SR/cage glitches are now pretty redundant in light of the IPG discoveries. There are also many many more glitches from the second and third games that I can name. Are you planning on a mega-edit of the first post?
 
Huh, in retrospect, that's a good idea.

Initially it was more just to gather a list so I could started on glitch lists on the Wiki, I started off with Rayman 2 some time ago, but after the Wiki 1.23 problem, I lost steam. I'm trying to bring it back now, and I'd love to have some help with this, I'm not the most inclined with the more obscure glitches and tricks within the series.
 
I don't know if someone else has encountered this following glitch, but I guess there is:

Several times while I was taking the teleport at the end of FC to the skate level, I just fell down on the ground in the part where there should be a cutscene.

Like, Rayman falls while the cutscene doesn't start instead of going helicopter mode. He loses HP, then I can walk. If I go in the direction where Rayman should go during the cutscene, it triggers it.
 
That's a well-known one, it usually happens if you jump or helicopter into the portal, instead of just walking.
It's bad design really, but when it first happened to me I somehow felt it was my fault, for not playing like I'm supposed to. :lol:
