The Online Challenges are a variety of game modes that feature in Rayman Legends, Rayman Adventures and Rayman Mini. As implied, these challenges require a connection to the internet in order to be accessed. The challenges are hosted on the Uplay servers in all versions of Rayman Legends, with the exception of the PlayStation Vita version, where they are hosted on PlayStation Network.

Overview
__NOTOC__
There are four challenges that can be accessed at any time, the Daily Challenge and Daily Extreme Challenge, and the Weekly Challenge and Weekly Extreme Challenge. The Daily Challenges are changed daily, while the Weekly Challenges remain open for seven days before being changed.

Each challenge has a scoreboard, with scores being divided by cups. The cups from lowest to highest are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. The cup the player has when a challenge concludes determines the amount of points that goes toward the player's Level of Awesomeness. They also contribute Lums to the player's overall ting count.

In Rayman Legends, there are four challenges that can be accessed at any time; the Daily Challenge, the Daily Extreme Challenge, the Weekly Challenge, and the Weekly Extreme Challenge. The Daily Challenges are changed on a daily basis, while the Weekly Challenges remain open for seven days before they are changed. The challenges are changed on Mondays, while on the PlayStation Vita version, they are changed on Thursdays. The main difference between normal and extreme challenges is the goal requirement for timed challenges, and that co-op is not allowed in extreme challenges.

Lum Prizes
Each challenge has a scoreboard, with scores being divided by cups. The cups from lowest to highest are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. The diamond cups are the rarest and are only given to the top 1% of the players of the specific challenge. The cup the player has when a challenge concludes determines the amount of points that goes toward the player's Level of Awesomeness. They also contribute Lums to the player's overall Lum count. While the challenges themselves remain the same on all versions, except the PlayStation Vita version, the leaderboards are always platform specific.
Ghosts, similarly to ones from the Ghost Mode, can be toggled on or off, or only on for friends. When on, the game will display several ghost versions of other players runs in the challenge with their names displayed above. These can not be interacted with in any way. Gravestones, with the users names above, will also be shown at various places where they died within a challenge.

There are five different areas in which challenges can take place, each based off the rescue levels from the Main Gallery. Although each challenge is randomly generated, there can never be two in the same area or of the same type in the daily or weekly challenges. During early 2016, the Rayman community manager Ubi-Mya organized special challenges every Friday. These challenges combined aspect from several challenges into new ones, such as raising the distance for the Neverending Pit time challenges or having the player collect as many Lums as possible in other locations than the Dojo.

In Rayman Adventures
In Rayman Adventures the challenges were introduced with the Summer Marathon and consists of one daily challenge set in the Land of the Livid Dead. In the level, players compete in an overall score which is calculated from the distance and Lums collected. Prices are given to players depending on their overall position on the leaderboard. By beating three goals in each challenge the player can obtain a Challenge Ticket. These challenges later reappeared randomly as Mini-Marathons.
With version 3.1.0 a new challenge location was added, Desert Kingdom. It reuses the same obstacles and level design as Land of the Livid Dead, but with different assets.
With version 3.4.0 a new challenge location was added, Golden Kingdom. It reuses the same obstacles and level design as Land of the Livid Dead, but with different assets.

In Rayman Mini
In Rayman Mini, Online Challenges appear only as weekly challenges, with two being available at a time. Each challenge has 4 missions, known as feats, which can be completed every day. Completing these will earn the player gems by the end of the challenge, which are used to increase their Level of Awesomeness or obtain new Swag Coins. The player's score in each challenge is determined by the distance and Lums collected. Two of the game's worlds, the River Stream and the Foliage, are available as challenge themes.
The hard difficulty is unlocked at the fourth Level of Awesomeness and the insane difficulty at the seventh Level of Awesomeness. Originally, reaching the tenth Level of Awesomeness granted the player the Golden Teensy, but the 1.4.0 update raised the final Level of Awesomeness to the twentieth level, so now reaching that grants the player the Golden Teensy.

An unused challenge in the style of the Infinite Tower can be found in the game files. Loading it into the game will only include the template start and will not generate any bricks. It may have been intended for an event but eventually scrapped.

The Land of the Livid Dead
Distance
The distance challenges within the Land of the Livid Dead has the player running from left to right as far as possible. Common obstacles which appear are skulls Rayman can bounce off of, Darkroots, collapsing ground and Toads with parachutes. Once the player reaches slightly past 1000 meters, the skulls will be the mainly occurring obstacle.

In the PlayStation Vita version a part where the ground collapses is slightly harder due to it collapsing faster.
Timed distance
The timed distance challenges within the Land of the Livid Dead either has the player reaching 250 or 300 meters depending on if it is a normal or extreme challenge. The greatest advantage in these are either co-op boost glitching or break-boosting.
Timed Lum goal
The timed Lum collecting challenges within the Land of the Livid Dead either has the player grabbing 150 or 200 Lums depending on if it is a normal or extreme challenge. Tricks like break-boosting will have to be used more precisely in these so no purple Lum chains are missed.

The timed distance challenges within the Neverending Pit either has the player reaching 250 or 300 meters depending on if it is a normal or extreme challenge. The trick here is to use the helicopter as few times as possible. Performing a crush attack or simply falling is needed for the lower times.

Distance
The distance challenges within Murfy's Dungeon has the player running from left to right as far as possible while controlling Murfy. These challenges put most focus on having Murfy pull around platforms and kill enemies while the player navigates through other obstacles. In the PlayStation Vita and Wii U versions the player can only control Murfy.
