Joe the Extra-Terrestrial is a character who appears only at a very late point in the original Rayman. He is a green four-eyed alien of unknown origin who owns his own snack bar called Eat at Joe's, located on a beach in the Caves of Skops.
When he meets Rayman, the lights of his diner do not work, and he gives him a firefly to help him in the dark caves. Rayman will have to punch the plug that turns on the diner lights, as well as a network of flying saucers, held with wires which make up Joe's electricity system. Once the lights are back on, Joe will then allow Rayman to cross the sea to the exit of the level.
