:It's not as uncommon as you seem to think; many male cartoon characters are voiced by women, including Bart Simpson and some of the kids from the Rugrats. As far as I can recall, Rayman does not speak at all in Origins – his only vocalisations in the game are the panting and grunting sounds he makes when he jumps or gets hit, and they sound quite feminine to me. (And is he the one who says 'Eck-point-chay'? I'm pretty sure that's a woman.) It's safe to assume that Douglas Rand voiced characters like Globox and the Bubble Dreamer, as they've got very deep voices that could only have been provided by a man, but Rayman's voice in the game is too ambiguous to say for certain.
