Christophe Héral was born in Montpellier and developed a passion for music during his teenage years, initially learning to play the guitar. At the age of 17, he began taking composition lessons. In 1985, he ventured into creating soundtracks for animated short films, gradually delving into this genre even more, working on projects for both television and cinema.

In 1999, Hubert Chevillard recommended him to [[Michel Ancel]], who was in search of a composer for his upcoming video game, ''[[Beyond Good & Evil]]''.
