Say the Word

Soundtrack Links

Incidentally on a separate note, I noticed you added Soundtracks to the Rayman 3 level articles, it was something I did as an experiment well over a decade ago. Partially as a proposed initiative to have some interlinking between the various RPC projects, you'll notice links to RaySaves save files as well.

While I don't think it was ever formally approved, I think it's a nice thing to add to the articles and you have my thanks for finishing what I started. If you're so inclined and if fellow editors approve, I wonder if there's scope for doing similar links for other games' level articles? --Master (talk) 22:28, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

Thank you dude :>, and no it was never formally approved lol, I was reading the wiki and seeing some of the level pages have the Soundtracks section and others lacking it was very inconsistent and it got on my nerves enough to make an account and fix it up lol. I also went ahead and added Saves sections to every other level as well as the Soundtracks, again in the name of being consistent with every level page.
I did actually consider linking up the Soundtracks for Rayman 1 and 2! If it'd be alright anyways. I only added the remaining soundtracks sections cuz they were already there, unreverted. I'm with you though and I agree connecting up every RPC Project through this wiki is comfortable and nice for Navigation.
Apart from that I also made the level template look cuter, I thought that score display you guys had was AWESOME, but I felt like I could embellish it a bit with the Rayman 3 UI Elements, and so far it seems like you guys are alright with that tiny addition to the Level Infobox so I'm happy to have done that. --Archvile 4:44, June 19 2025 (UTC)

"Scenic views"

Hi, can you give us more context on where the "scenic views" for Rayman 3 levels come from? They are not in-game screenshots and their resolutions appear to be slightly inconsistent (also not sure if PNG is the most appropriate format given the compression of the underlying textures). Additionally, I see there appears to be some pushback on replacing some of them, so maybe it's best to gather opinions on what images would work best and try to reach consensus with a consistent proposal across levels? Thanks! — 10:32, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

I had a quick look at the Fairy Council image and it appears if angled right it looks very similar to how Raym.app showed it, not saying it is but if it were I'd be inclined to say probably best not to use a third party tool as a representation of how something looks like. It's not quite accurate to how things look in-game, though I wouldn't be opposed to perhaps making use of the ingame screenshot tool. Though it is a bit finicky what with the UI being in the way.
We probably could use Raym.app to illustrate things that aren't so clear in-game, for instance the shortcut in Tomb of the Ancients phase 2. --Master (talk) 22:04, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

Yoo, yeah I did use Raym.app to take the screenshots, I wholeheartedly agree with the resolutions, I was kinda just taking screenshots of it which led to it being a little inconsistent. I'm sorry about that.
Given the Rayman community had access to stuff like Raym.app to take some high quality screenshots of the levels. I wondered if we could replace those jank looking screenshots (for The Land of The Livid Dead especially I think it does a poor job at showcasing the Environment) with a nice scenic shots of the levels' respective landmarks. For the Fairy Council I aimed for the big council since most of the level takes place inside that building, one could assume it is "THE" Fairy Council.
Whatever the method we end up using, I think we'd all agree having clean shots of the environment like other video game wikis would be preferable to what we have now. I also wanna go on a limb and say I'm sorry for being so bold with the edit and replacing article images when I was eyeballing/sandboxing it all. I wasn't aware there was pushback and I shouldn't do that in the future. I wanna contribute and this wiki is a lot of people's pride and joy and I don't want to sully it.
Lastly I think we absolutely should try to get a common consensus on what we consider to be each level's "landmark", the coolest looking section so to speak. I for example think the tower in The Land of The Livid Dead looks the coolest, but that is MY opinion. Perhaps most people want to see another section of the level be showcased. If you guys are down with my vision, I think we could get some really nice looking pages, or if you'd rather keep the level starts. that works too, It's your show, not mine, I won't cause a scene (I'm also gonna plug the templates into a Userpage sandbox or something of the sorts if I wanna toy with something like this in the future).
On another note : I wonder if it's possible to hack the game to get some sort of freecam? I've done no research on that topic so I can't say. Like Master said, Raym.app isn't actually as accurate as I would've liked it to be, Bog of Murk looks terrible within it and lacks pretty much all of the level's effects so another method is definitely the way to go. --Archvile 4:26, 19 June 2025 (UTC)
