Betilla's behaviour towards Rayman in the original game is maternal, which seems to fit with the nymph's role as Rayman's creator. The terms ‘nymph’ and ‘fairy’ are also largely interchangeable. The only inconsistency is that Betilla is limbless, like Rayman, whereas the nymph has limbs; however, ''[[Rayman Origins]]'' features other redesigned characters from the original game.
