"Despite its title, it is not a prequel, but a sequel to the first three Rayman games." WHAT? Since WHEN it's a sequel?! It was changed to a sequel when the game was turned into a full retail title. There are no origins or young rayman, it's just a regular adventure with rayman and his friends.--Sergiomonty 15:40, 23 May 2012 (CEST) | :It was changed to a sequel when the game was turned into a full retail title. :I'm really surprised that you weren't aware of this until now; it's been common knowledge since late last year! The game is an unambiguous sequel. This should be proof enough:
:*In R1, Rayman meets Betilla for the first time, and Mr Dark creates Bad Rayman.
:*In R2, Rayman meets Murfy, the Grand Minimus and Polokus for the first time.
:*In Origins, it's clear that Rayman has already met Betilla, Murfy, the Grand Minimus and Polokus. He's sleeping with several of them at the beginning of the game! Dark Rayman's appearance wouldn't make sense if he hadn't already been created by Mr Dark – and this connection to Mr Dark shouldn't be taken lightly, as Polokus actually talks about it when you pull on his beard.
:The developers basically decided to rework the game and make it a sequel, perhaps because they didn't want to have to worry about continuity errors or feel that they had to structure the game so that it fit with the backstory established in the others. For example, the Magician's betrayal would be impossible in a prequel. You'll notice that the scenes that made us think it was a prequel in the first place (like the creation of Rayman by Betilla, and the first meeting of Rayman and Globox) are not present in the final game. The developers never actually used the word 'prequel'; they've always told us that the title refers to the fact that the game is meant to be a return to the 'roots' or 'origins' of the series (by which they mean the gameplay and visual style of the original game).
:If that's not enough, I've compiled a more comprehensive list of evidence here. I must warn you: it's very long. —Spiraldoor 18:28, 23 May 2012 (CEST)
