Soon, Rayman, Globox and André ended up at Doctor Gonzo's, where all three of the Doctor's successfully removed André from Globox's stomach (it is revealed in Hoodlums' Revenge that some of André's spirit still remained within Globox). However, André flew away and gathered up an army of Black Lums, who made an allegiance with the former Knaaren-champion Reflux, who Rayman had defeated on the way to Gonzo's. Reflux wanted revenge on Rayman for defeating him, and he stole his king's scepter in order to gain great power.

Later on, André watched as Reflux used the scepter to summon the power of the Leptys, which transformed him into a more powerful monster than he already was. Reflux fought Rayman in the Tower of the Leptys, growing massive and sprouting wings in between the battle. However, Rayman, with the added help of Globox and the Armaguiddon machine, killed Reflux and used his grimace ability to transform André back into a Red Lum, therefore saving the world.
