General Pokémon Thread

I don't know how many Pokemon there are now, but they're quite probably running out of decent ideas, I don't personally see any need to keep adding new pokemon. If they want to keep the series fresh they should change other things instead.

Completely in agree.

It's clear enough they are running out of ideas for new Pokémon. They started to get really bad in D/P and these promisse to be worse... DX

And I thought it would finish in the number 493 with the "God Pokémon". What's coming next? The "Universe Pokémon"?

They're also trying to get idea's out of real life animal's, which they've already done since the 1rst gen, but now it's getting worse.
An Zebra, Monkey, Pig, Gorilla (that fire thing), Mole, Snake (grass starter), Otter, floating pig thing.

We'll see how the starters evolutions will look, I have affraid already to think about that.

Your point is lost on me. nearly all pokemon are based on real animals, in fact that's kinda the point. The whole game is inspired by collecting insects and tadpoles.

Yes, that's true. :paranormal:

What I think that is going wrong is how this are currently designing the Pokémon, not the fact of the design being based in animals.

Sazando... i shat bricks., same with Krikizan and Goruggo, Kojondo is cool too.
But Meguroko and Warubiru are better than Warubiaru.... just the looks.

And I thought D/P/Ptt was so bad... this generation is even worse.

There are very few that I actually like. I love the PKMN that was based in a Archeopterix for example.

This gen. ain't that bad Haruka. Some of them are a bit eh but there are some that, if we don't like now we'll certainly loosen up to.

I think it will be better once we've seen them in game, though I think they've lost their touch. They need to go back to simplicity. (Look at a random new gen pokey and then look at Diglett.)

Diglett was one of the worst. Even these new over-embellished messes are preferable to that void of creativity.

Yeah diglett's not a good it example here, the design is just...random to put it nicely. Besides would you rather not have over-the-top pokemon than one's that are just clones? I don't think there's much they can do in terms of simplicity.

From a competetive standpoint this generation is ridiculous. Needlessly specialised stats everywhere, ridiculous amounts of wather abuse...
