They seem to have a high quality image from a screenshot of the 2D version of Rayman 2 here: https://gamehistory.org/media-assets/
I'm not sure if they actually found the original one or if they simply fixed the image to be higher quality by using assets from the level in the PS1 version.
Pretty neat. Recreating the image from sprites from the beta sounds like a huge amount of work (and I doubt they're all in there anyway), so I think they must have gotten their hands on an original screenshot. And there might be more...

That's why I started to watch this group to be aware if any more Rayman 2 content would surface. Maybe there are even better artwork renders of Rayman 2 than the ones we already know and have!

I always thought it was named after the "Jou Wandayē" that can be heard when he receives a silver lum in the original game.

Holy crap, have they never said anything about the language ever? :o I thought it was just some bullshit they made up for the timeline, maybe some promotional sites/magazines talked about this

Very nice. Looks like more RayWiki work needs to be done in the prototype's article.

You know, every time I play the playable level, I stop for a minute and look at the scenery, and think about the same thing to myself: "If only this never got cancelled." Maybe it was for the best? Now, I love the final 3D release of R2, especially the Revolution port, but what would've happened to the series if the 2D version released instead? Would the series still be somewhat alive today?

A different subject; judging by this photo:

Perhaps the object under Rayman was supposed to take over the photographer's place as a checkpoint? Or just a standard platform? The arrow might be a clue.

I know, right? Would be equally fantastic if they had 3D R2 material of superior quality than the ones we got!

This information will make a fine addition to the Raymanian article on RayWiki. Though how exactly should we note it?
The name's been added, but there really should be a reference explaining where it comes from (we don't want unsourced data).

It clearly says where it's from.
In an official timeline made for Rayman's 20th anniversary, it was revealed that the name of the language is Wandayē.

They give Ambre Écueil's French name? I guess the fairies are like Matuvus/Tribelles and Teensie Doctors then, they can't seem to decide what they want to call them in English! Also, lol at "First Rayman game on Mobile".

I also like how in Biggest Baddies, Mr. Dark overcomes Mutant Reflux . I am not fully sure if they mean about the size or the level of threat. :mryellow:

By the way, I don't know if this was shared before but it seems someone uploaded the canonball concept art with good quality and without the annoying page middle deforming the drawing due to direct scan:

Yep, I uploaded it to RayWiki when I found it a few weeks ago. First time I upload anything there and I already had to remove the white borders to make it fit within RayWiki's resolution limits :p

I love Rayman 2's concept art though. Especially the picture with Rayman and Clark hanging off a cliff to help a smaller creature. So stylish - I wish there was more of it!
