Rayman 3

I recently tried to mod that theme into the PC version to no avail. Modifying the .hxc files that contain the references to the sounds using the same data contained in the GCN version (with certain bytes swapped to compensate for endianness) causes either no music to play or the game to crash completely when the level is loaded.

Oh, I wasn't aware it was on the Game Cube release too.

Still, it's such a good piece of music, and also such a shame it's not used more.

Still, why the hell would they leave it out of the OST? Maybe the composer didn't want it to be distributed after the PS2/GCN releases for some reason?

Not sure about the timing of the releases, but it could be the track was made later on when they released the game to the consoles. Maybe it was a mistake not including it. Maybe it was meant as a console-exclusive extra.

Yes, that does make more sense. Still, they should have put it in the OST, but if it's console exclusive I guess that makes sense.

Still that might not be true, I don't think it's on the original xbox release...

I recall pouring through videos to see for myself, and I remember the Xbox using the PC version's music, so nope, it's not in there.

That can't be right. The games were finished in the order GC (with different menu and FC5 as well as 2D Nightmare leftovers), PS2 (still has BoM music, hidden starship enterprise in same location as GC), Xbox (with moved starship enterprise and lack of BoM music), PC, Mac, HD.

PC version had Madder song from opening removed. There were legal issues with this likely too.

Nope, it didn't. The "HD" versions, yes. The PC version, nope. Unless there's some uber-secret version floating around we've never heard of until this conversation.

Wait for the title screen to cycle twice, the trailer will play then.

I just recently purchased a copy of Rayman 3 for PS2 off of ebay to re-live the good old times, it'll be arriving in the post soon with all of it's original soundtrack glory.

Never waited that long so I didn't try before. I assumed that because it does not play on start like it does on consoles that it is removed :oops2:

Rayman 3 is my favourite game in the whole series. I found a wired bug where I unlocked every level in the game.

i was on the xbla version and I finished level 1 2 and 3, and realised I missed loads of gems in level 2. when I went back to get them all and finish the level, it took me to the menu but all of the levels where unlocked. Is this a secret or a glitch or what? I also can't seem to beat the underground factory level if I select it from the level select as it just makes the game freeze on black, but I can play the game normally without level select and I can finish it, aswell as all the other levels.

It unlocks every world except the last one, no? Unfortunately that's a well-known bug with the badly-made "HD" port.

yeah, it's bizarre. I wonder why?
I also have no idea why the factory level doesn't work... it just fades to black and freezes.

Meh, R3 HD really did taint the name of Rayman 3, I'd recommend you try playing it on one of its original platforms. Believe me, you're better off sacrificing their attempt of a "HD remaster" for a working game.

Yea I bought R3 HD a while back, blissfully unaware. I never got around to finishing it (I got to Summit Beyond The Clouds) but knowing the game breaking bugs it suffers from makes me fearful to even try. x)
