Rayman 3D

For goodness sakes...
Ok, Rayman 2 is a great game. I'm sure many people understand that by now.

How many ports are they going to make of that game?

Good question. Because without compting Rayman 2 Forever, the GBC version of the game, Rayman 2: The Great Escape is now available for 8 different platforms (including Rayman 3D).

So, is anyone else wondering how they'll make people buy this instead of Rayman DS? Since that's basically cheaper and playable on 3DS too.
Just the usual stuff (better graphics, 3D, better controls - hopefully - and better music quality), or some other small changes as well?

But I really doubt they will use the Dreamcast version since it is from SEGA.
That didn’t stop them from basing the iOS version on the Dreamcast one.

I know that but still I have doubts. If Nintendo used the Dreamcast version in an intact way I would appreciate aswell.

You know as much as I love Rayman 2 to bits this has pretty much pissed me off because it's just unnecessary if all it's going to be is exactly the same as all the other versions. Least this Rabbids game is going to be something new.

I knew Ubisoft were retards, but not this retarded. I've played Rayman 2 to death, though I'd loooooveee to see it in 3D! I've just pre-ordered the 3DS today (wooooo!) so I might just get it. Maybe. Of course that all depends because I'm not buying another port, especially if it's as crap was Rayman DS was.

What would be cool is if they actually put effort into it andf updated the game altogether to give us an entirely new Rayman 2(If Ubisoft knew what that word effort meant anyway). Brand new levels and worlds, bosses (the 3DS is huge) sex-up the graphics and make the story stronger... Make Rayman's model how he was in Rayman 3?

Ah what am I kidding, Rayman Origins just got raped what do we expect?

I also bet that it's going to be badly outsourced by like Ubi Casablanca or something and they really didn't know how to do good DS games.

Retards? What makes you say this? They are bringing Rayman 2 to a wider audience, some of whom will never have had the opportunity to play it. They are also giving players a chance to demonstrate that there is still interest in new Rayman titles. The stereoscopic 3D effects are something we have never seen before in a Rayman game. The controls will not be crap, because the 3DS has an analogue stick. If you do not deem this new version of the game to be a worthy purchase, then you do not have to buy it. I see no valid reason for anyone to object to this news.

They tried that already, and the resulting product was inferior to the original version. If they’re willing to spend the time and money necessary to give us an entirely new game, I’d prefer if they focused it on Rayman 4.

Raped? When did this happen?

I don't recall Rayman DS bringing a wider audience to Rayman games but that was only because it was so badly done and most people in this "wider audience" only really bought the DS for shit like Brain Training and the Imagine games, among other games targeted for old people and 4 year old girls.

Only if this is going to be done well, might I change my mind.

The controls in Rayman DS were terrible and yes, hopefully the analouge stick being there will rid that problem but Rayman DS still had other problems, such as nasty glitches. How many more ports for new consoles do we need for Rayman 2 to be available to a wider audience? But then again the 3DS is featuring lots of re-makes of peoples favourite old games such as Starfox 64...
And Ubisoft can be a bunch of lazy asses :P

Not an entirely new game, but at least boost up the over-all quality of it, being its a re-make. I'd prefer a Rayman 4, but there's nothing saying that we're definetly getting one ever. We do know we're getting this though and it would be great if they made a half-decent job of it.

Raped? When did this happen?

I'm sure we all want to know more about it and all I'm aware of is that they're failing to do this...

Either way I'd love to see my fav childhood game in full 3D graphics!

In the other hand, people who never tried Rayman 2 before can have that chance if they will get a 3DS.

The graphics appear to have been reworked. The screenshot of the Prison Ship level seems to have improved lighting effects, I think that the barrel in the Fairy Glade screenshot has been remodelled.

Did I read "Rayman 2 Dreamcast" port?

Honestly I was thinking it would be an improved port of the Nintendo 64 game. There were more chances turned to that side.

Fantastic. Now I'm much more happier that this version is taken off from DC, it will be promissing!

# Significant improvements on gameplay - This version has beneficiated from a special treatment, offering improved graphics, 3D, and giving players the possibility to take advantage of the analog stick.
The 3D version makes the game more accessible and brings more advantages: improved learning curve, immersive cameras, graphical enhancements.
:D

Progress in 45 areas set across 13 regions of Rayman's world. Uncover the whole universe in 3D during +/-15 hours of fun.

This is interesting. I remember that it is more than 13 regions of Rayman world. ;D When I read that it has +/- 15 hours of fun i remided my childhood when it really took me so long (maybe longer) to complete the game. :)

And the Dreamcast connection isn’t just an observation – the official press release specifically mentions it. They’re serious about this Dreamcast thing, not just glossing over it like they did with the iOS version.

Am I the only one who hopes they put the Hall of Doors back in? The Isle is cool and all, but now I’m getting sort of tired of it. Revolution syndrome.

NEVER FORGET.

If they'll use the Dreamcast version, it is more unlikely they would use a Hall of Doors.

I love the Isle of Doors in DC. :)

Now I'm thinking, it would be perfect if they adapted the Globox Village to the wireless connection and the VMU pictures into the touchscreen (or even improved).

EDIT: I've found the conference part where Yves Guillemot speaks:

There is no doubts it is a Dreamcast port. But what's that strange golden string in the Prison Ship part where Rayman flies with the Flying Shell?
