m I think we should call them 'vanishing clouds' rather than 'pierced clouds' or whatever. We call all agree that they vanish, but whether they're pierced or eyed is open to debate

Clouds are platforms found in all worlds of Rayman, except Dream Forest. There are many kinds of clouds, some of them being static, the others following various trajectories. Among static clouds, there are rebounding and trampoline clouds, the latter allowing Rayman to jump higher with a certain timing, but also vanishing clouds, which disappear after Rayman jumps onto them, or at regular intervals. During the battle against Mr Stone, moving vanishing clouds appear, but nowhere else.

In the Jaguar version of the game, vanishing clouds have eyes, which snap open to reveal a malevolent face an instant before they disappear from under Rayman's feet. These eyed clouds, however, do not open their eyes in any other version of the game, but they do still appear to have closed eyes. They make a reappearance in Rayman 3s 2D Madness minigame.

In the original Rayman game, they are found in all worlds, except for the Dream Forest. There are many kinds of clouds. Some of them are static, and others follow various trajectories. Among static clouds, there are bouncy and trampoline clouds, the latter allowing Rayman to jump higher with the correct timing. There are also vanishing clouds, which sport a pair of eyes and disappear once Rayman steps on them, or at regular intervals. During the battle against Mr Stone, moving vanishing clouds appear, but these occur nowhere else.

In the Atari Jaguar version of the original Rayman, vanishing clouds open their eyes to reveal a malevolent face for a very brief moment every time they disappear. In any other version of the game, their eyes remain permanently closed but are still visible to the player, allowing them to quickly identify vanishing clouds.

Clouds return in Maths and English with Rayman. Some of them represent answer choices. In Rayman Designer and its spin-offs, they can be used in all of the worlds.

In the Game Boy Color version of Rayman
In the Game Boy Color version of Rayman, clouds appear mostly in Airy Tunes and Rocky Peaks. They are slightly smaller than in the original Rayman game, and have no mouth or eyes. Clouds can be static, mobile, bouncy, trampoline or ephemeral.

Clouds make a reappearance in Rayman 3s 2D Madness minigame, where they are larger, and bounce Rayman into the air rather than vanishing when he steps on them.

In the Nintendo DS version of Rayman Raving Rabbids, clouds appear in several stages. They start out transparent and not solid, though they can be made solid by using the wind costume. They act as platforms used to get across large gaps. They will, however, only remain solid a set amount of time.
