I get the impression that his paternal grandfather, Nimrod, shot the Abominable Geranium, and his father, Zaroff, shot Space Mama. ~Spiral

'This is the world of images, and also the world of mirages: passing across the stage of a small theatre, Rayman can find on his path beings straight from a pirate or a science fiction film. In particular, he meets Mama, an impressive shrew armed with a bizarre rolling pin...'

Nowhere in there does it say her name is Space Mama. I believe her name is actually Mama and the two versions of herself are Viking Mama and Space Mama. Also it would explain the different set-up of the pirates; before they were dressed like Vikings, but then maybe Mama decided to go more powerful and dress up as a spacewoman; presumably her minions did too.Iheckler9 20:21, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
:I know what you mean, and you do have a point. Likewise it might be appropriate to move 'Mr Skops' to 'Skops the Scorpion', which is what the manual calls him. But I don't think we should do either of these things. People have been calling her 'Space Mama' for fifteen years now... it would be a bit weird and pointless for us to change our official stance to the much more generic name 'Mama'. She has two identities, the 'Space Mama' and the untitled 'Pirate Mama' – 'Space Mama' is her final, more powerful and more 'true' form, and it's the only one given by the game itself. It's also the one used in the description of the exploits of the Shoedsackovskaïa family. I really think we should let this particular sleeping dog lie. Everyone is always going to call her 'Space Mama', no matter what we do. —Spiraldoor 14:41, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Unless this name is mentioned if some official material I am not aware of, it is to be removed from the article immediately. Where did you get it from, iHeckler? — 15:49, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
:I'm sure that because there is a Space Mama (in space) and a Space Mama in 'Viking getup', the latter should be called Viking Mama. However, I am aware that the name is unofficial, so discard my changes if you see fit. --iHeckler9 16:24, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
::Your theory makes perfect sense, but it's nothing more than unsourced assumptions in the end. Not to mention that Vikings did not even wear horned helmets. Let's stick to official material instead. — 16:40, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Manual
In the game manual for the NTSC release, it describes Space Mama as "a tough cookie with a deadly rolling pin", though the wording could be different in the PAL version. It's a minor thing, but I want to make sure before I edit the page. --technology4617 (talk) 07:00, 26 August 2013 (CEST)
:The current quote at the top of the page is definitely used in at least some of the European manuals. Feel free to include the alternative quote if it's different enough, but if they've only changed a few words, it's best to discuss it in the article prose instead. —Spiraldoor 22:36, 26 August 2013 (CEST)
