A liana is a type of pink-leafed, vine-like plant found in the Rayman series, most notably in the original game and its spin-offs, Rayman Designer and Rayman Junior. In these games they appear only in the Dream Forest, and their primary purpose is to allow Rayman to climb them to reach higher areas. In Rayman 2: The Great Escape, lianas are less colourful and more realistic, and their functionality has been adapted to 3D; Rayman no longer needs to jump from vine to vine, as he can now climb smoothly along in any direction.
