The Mini Janos (currently not an official name as of yet) are enemies that are encountered only in Rayman 2: The Great Escape and its remakes. They are one-eyed round monsters with skeletal arms that are found mostly in the Cave of Bad Dreams, which is guarded by their much larger counterpart, Jano, though a few more appear at a certain point in the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire.

Strategy

Mini Janos mainly attack by breathing fire, and they often attempt to avoid Rayman when they look each other in the eye while attacking. Like Jano, they can dig underground, and they usually make their ambush at what seems to be a dead end, and there is usually more than one to defeat. Should Rayman get too close to them, they will grab and devour him, counting as a death and respawning Rayman. If they seem to gang up at a dead end, all of them need to be defeated in order to reveal a secret item, usually a plum or a Magic sphere. Those Mini Janos look like Jano of the Cave Of Bad Dreams, except they're little, and in fact, they don't have the stylish hat for no reason. If you get too close to them, they'll grab, devour, and then they'll eat you, so try not to get too close. They sometimes can shoot fire at you, and hide behind walls, when you turn back as they try to sneak up on you. Now remember, if you turn your back, the Mini Janos will pop out, then try turning your back towards them, and shoot when they pop out.
