Re: Gottagocool38/MSRFan2011's Rayman fan-stuff
A Rayman animation i made based on an pachinko game (click on Rayman for the animation)

Although i wasn't a bit glad with how this one turned out (because i'm really bad at animating for some reason), i did have fun animating this as much as i do.

I don't remember seeing anything about a pirate or jungle world, but Crouching Huns and a Gothic, Transylvania-themed world called Drak's Nightmare were indeed scrapped from the game. It doesn't look like any of those worlds aside from the Land of the Livid Dead are coming back in Retold; a missed opportunity for sure, and I wish they could have at least brought back Drak's Nightmare, but it's not really the end of the world either.

This music level gives off major jungle vibes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftPgdqfcd9I&t=35s

Re: Rayman Legends
I remember watching a YouTube video that was auto-dubbed that said Rayman Legends was an unfinished game with tons of cut content and worlds, and on the pirate forum I remember a post(viewtopic.php?p=1476513&hilit=crouching+huns#p1476513) where someone looked into the original game files and found unused assets and names for many worlds if i remmber corectly there was a cut pirate world, a cut jungle/forest world, Land of the Living Dead, a Gothic castle world and an East Asian inspired world called Crouching Huns. do you think retold well add them

It still runs on the UbiArt engine internally, but the depth planes UbiArt runs on are mapped to curved surfaces in Snowdrop and enhanced with all kinds of 3D stuff. The way this pipeline was created, the developers' tools enable them to run the original UbiArt levels and the newer Snowdrop versions at the same time.
Tbh, this is probably my favourite thing about Legends Retold, I'm glad they found a way to actually keep using the UbiArt framework instead of abandoning completely, it is an incredibly powerful tool and it would be a shame if they stopped using it for good. I'm really curious about how the integration works and if they did it just to speed up the process of importing the original layouts into Snowdrop or if they plan to keep using it in the future.

Considering how fast they were able to iterate through multiple level designs during Legend's development, I think it could be a phenomenal way to speed up the process of crafting new levels, either for other 2.5D platforming games or for future Rayman games (altought I hope they release another full 3D title in the future, I wouldn't mind if they kept the 2.5D for smaller adventures or even expansions for Retold).
Some players, of course, may prefer the classic 2D look. Given that the two art styles play side by side so seamlessly in-engine, I ask whether players will also be able to toggle between the two art styles at will, Halo-style. “We don’t have an answer to give you on that at this time,” I’m told, somewhat cryptically. Read into that what you will.
As for this, I think that a toggle to restore the original 2D look of the game would ultimately defeat the purpose of remaking Legends as a whole. They've clearly stated that (for better or worse) they want to create a new visual identity for the franchise moving forwards, and adding a switch so that people can play the original experience without all the new additions like the Dragon's stages or the cinematics would only make it worse for the people that already say that the remake is not necessary.

Sabertooth wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 3:16 am I love the new map. It makes absolutely no sense in context of each game's storyline, but I don't care. They're making something resembling an effort to embrace the established world and history of the Rayman series, for the first time ever in a way many of us thought Origins was trying to do (only to be proven wrong when the game came out), and I'm optimistic.
Agreed! Even if every aspect of the map doesn't make sense, especially when compared to previous maps seen in Rayman 2 and Origins, I greatly appreciate them trying to make Rayman's world and lore cohesive for the first time in a while. If doing that means messing with trivial details like the placement of certain locations, then I'm all for it. :)
Haruka wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 11:23 am There's definitely room for improvement. When I was watching it I felt that the movement/object placement wasn't 100% in sync with the music rhythm.
That's kind of what I meant when I said that level seemed like one of the music levels in Rayman Mini. Those ones weren't bad, but their layouts weren't exactly synchronized with the beat of their songs, making them feel slightly off. Admittedly, the more I see the clip, the more I find the choice of song funny more than anything. Wonder what they'll do once it's Hammer Time...

I actually quite like them. Maybe they're the juvenile form of the Baby Globoxes, while the ones in R2 are an older form.

Here are new doodles :D.

Re: Rayman Legends Retold
It would be funnier if the speed or the pitch of the song varied depending on the difference of your position and the optimal path.

But alas, no.
