I always found it funny how they changed the color of the musical staves to black in this version:

Huh, I wonder why they opted to do that for?

Rayman certainly has had many variations across multiple releases in some capacity, didn't it? Didn't one of the console versions have fog effects or something where the others did not?

I always perceived it as them thinking black notes/musical sheets would make more sense as that's how they're often portrayed in the real world.
That or it would help with the level design readibility as the original visuals can kind of blend in with most backgrounds, Rayman DSi did attempt a bunch of quality-of-life improvements after all... But still quite a jarring and unnecessary change.

Both Saturn and PS1 had fog if I remember correctly, at least it was certainly in the original console versions excluding Jaguar.

Yeah and then they forgot to update one of the magician bonus levels, so it still uses the original white design :oops2:

Oh wow, I didn't realize that about the bonus level either! :lol: That's so random :fou2:

And yeah, I remember this change being discussed here when that version first came out. We all found it quite bizarre…
 
You know, the Magician from Rayman 1 looks quite fatherly in looks imo :mrgreen:
I dunno, I just feel this way + the voice sounds this way. I think he could make a family with some beautiful lady of his species ngl... :coeur:
 
I mean, I always saw him as a father figure for Rayman in Rayman Junior! I noted as much back in 2014 when expressing my distaste for "his" portrayal in Legends... That said, in Rayman 1 itself, he seems more like a strange guy on the sidelines... :oops2:

And YET he is still a charming magician salesman :)
Also I still have Rayman Redemption so one day I MIGHT just go and complete it as Rayman 1 :wink:
 
If you guys had to make me choose between Rayman Brain Games and Rayman Activity Center to play for the rest of my life, ya'll exactly know which one I'm picking.

It's not Brain Games, it punishes its players >n>

Oh okay. I haven't played any of these two, but thanks to this post I'll put them to my game To-Do list. Yeps!
BUT I might touch them only after I finish Rayman 3. Which is not today, sadly, but I wish this was true.
I also wanted to say that Tings look like sapphires (the original ones btw) and it genuinely makes me happy to think about this.
 
Oh yeah, those punishments are really over the top, particularly in the alphabetical order levels! They don't really bother me anymore though... Not much anyway :P

Literally "you get this wrong, you die"

While Activity Center is like, "Oh, you got it wrong, but try again, you'll get it! it takes time."

See the dramatic difference??? I sure do XD
 
Speaking of Junior, anyone think that game looks off? Rayman on the HUD looks deep fried :lol:

The whole game just feels super empty, it's honestly kind of eerie.
