The Front is the name of an island?
- If you compare the arrangement of the areas of the island on the official map of the Glade of Dreams (http://www.raymanpc.com/wiki/script-en/images/e/ea/Rayman2_map.jpg) and the distribution of the levels in the three areas of the Front, you can see a lot of similarities. In fact, you can draw precise borders, which divide the island into three parts. So, does it mean that the Front is the name of this big island at the center of the Glade of Dreams? -- Boomboleros7 16:42, 21 May 2012 (CEST)
- Can we have your version of what the Front is in picture form? I'm struggling to picture it. --iHeckler9

- I think the Front is the entire island. -- Boomboleros7 17:18, 21 May 2012 (CEST)

- The name 'the Front' is used exactly once in Revolution, by the Grand Minimus when he transports Rayman there. This happens in the Woods of Light, so that level can't possibly be part of the Front. Since the map shows that the Woods of Light is located on the island, there's no way that 'the Front' could be the island's name. —Spiraldoor

- Okay. But in that case, what proves that 'the Front' is a proper noun? The name of an area? In the sentence of the Grand Minimus, 'Front' could be a common noun, which refers to a military front, a battlefront, where Rayman will fight the Robo-Pirates. Furthermore, the Grand Minimus said "We can send you to the front, where the Pirates are". And that's right, the Pirates are present in most of the other levels after the Woods of Light. What do you think? -- Boomboleros7 19:43, 21 May 2012 (CEST)
- We have no way of knowing whether the word 'Front' should be capitalised, since the game's font doesn't have a lower case. We simply capitalised it because that's the way level/world names are generally spelt.
- If there was ever an official source that confirmed the Front to be the collective name for the game's hub levels, it's long forgotten, but that was already the meaning everyone believed the word to hold when I joined this site in 2008, and I've always assumed it was correct.
- The word 'front' has many meanings, one of which is 'the land along a seashore or large lake', which certainly applies to the Minisaurus Plane, Globox House and Rainbow Creek. Your interpretation that it refers to the pirates' military force is another possibility. Perhaps we should check the wording in the original French version of the game to see if it's more specific? —Spiraldoor

- In the French version, 'the Front' is called 'Le Front'. In French, the word 'front' only refer to a military front when he is used to refer to a place. It can be used too to refer to a 'land along a seashore or large lake', but only with a particular structure, 'front de mer'.
- By the way, while you speak about the font of the texts, I have maybe found something that prove that the Front isn't a proper noun. In Rayman 2 and Rayman Revolution, the name of the characters, of the Lums, but too of the levels, the places and the hubs are wrote in red in every texts. And it isn't the case of the Front in the sentence of the Grand Minimus. As well in the English version than in the French version. What do you think? -- Boomboleros7 16:43, 22 May 2012 (CEST)
- Then it's probably not a proper noun. Not sure how to refer to the free-roaming hub in that case. —

- If the Front isn't a proper noun, I suggest that we delete the article on the Front and any mention of the Front on the wiki. And for Minisaurus Plain, Globox's House and Rainbow Creek, well, if we say that they are the three hubs of Rayman Revolution, this is enough. Or we can say that they are three regions of the main island of the Glade of Dreams, created especially for this new version of Rayman 2. This is not a problem if they aren't gathering together in a common area. On the contrary, I think it's more coherent and realistic. -- Boomboleros7 00:31, 25 May 2012 (CEST)
- Several words are not in red. There's no reason to delete the article. We could expand it by adding detailed information about the Minisaurus Plain, Globox's House and Rainbow Creek. --iHeckler9

- Sorry, but every proper noun in the dialogues of Rayman 2 and Rayman Revolution are in red. I have checked every dialogues in the hubs and in the cut-scenes, and also the texts that you can read when you press Select, the name of the things and of the areas (Like the Fairy Glade, the Stone Circle, the Minisaurus Plain, the Pier, the Sanctuary of Lava...) that are exclusive to the Glade of Dreams are always wrote in red, from start to finish. Sorry to insist, but I really think the Front isn't a proper noun. -- Boomboleros7 16:17, 25 May 2012 (CEST)
