Hey, I'm Ambidextroid. Welcome to my hole.
I'm not as knowledgeable when it comes to some topics in need of a good stern knowledging up on this wiki such as the RO/RL pages, but I'll do my best.
My Edits
They can be found here on my contribs page.
My Rayman-Based Adventures
Rayman 1
I was about 5 or 6 years old when I played Rayman 1 on PC for the first time. I didn't really know much about it, and I wasn't very good, but it was the first game I had ever played.
Though I have played most of the game again in recent years, I had very, very nostalgic and distant memories of this game for a very long time.
I class this game as the jolly one from the original trilogy, for obvious reasons (namely that awesome pencil level).
Rayman 2
When I was a little older, around 7 or 8, I started playing Rayman 2 for PC, the first game I personally owned.
It's my favourite game in the series and I was obsessed with it at the time. Jano (I didn't know his name at the time) was incredibly creepy and scary to me, but was (and still is) my favourite Rayman character.
I used to draw comics and drawings of Rayman 2 in primary school, but I couldn't spell at the time so there was no text, just visual recreations of scenes. I remember a few drawings of the place where you rescue Ly with that wired machine that spits out bombs, and another picture of Rayman holding on to a flaming keg, but I can't remember much else.
I also had Rayman Revolution and played that quite a bit. I have a fond memory of a friend who was at my house and he thought the game looked shit and didn't understand why I liked the game so much... If only he gave it a try, the fool.
I don't know why, but this game gave me the impression that Rayman was actually only a few centimetres tall and everything in his world is just small. It may have been the plumbs...
I class this game as the creepy one from the original trilogy, for the Cave of Bad Dreams and the overall atmosphere.
Rayman 3
When I was about the same age (just a little older I think) I played Rayman 3.
It's very close to Rayman 2 on being one of my favourite games. I used to love the quirky art and music, and I remember the Hoodlum Headquarters level fondly. I also remember those Balloons and Missile Command mini-games well, if not just for their quirky and catchy music. That Balloons mini-game was kind of creepy as a kid too, with that surreal empty landscape...
I class this game as the scary one from the original trilogy, for the Desert of the Knaaren and the Knaaren themselves (which, for some odd reason, I used to think where called 'Invincibles' as I have a very vivid memory of the teensies saying they where called 'Invincibles', as do my brothers, though I must have dreamed it up or something).
