Betilla's House is a key location in Rayman Activity Centre. It acts as the main menu of the game, and also contains various bonus activities. When a player starts a game for the first time, Betilla the Fairy (who is introduced to the player by Rayman, who gets her attention by jumping noisily on a cloud) gives a tutorial explaining the basic features of the game. Both the exterior and the interior of the house are featured in the game.
Activities and Options within Betilla's house
Exterior:
Tutorial – Betilla gives a tutorial of the game, which first plays automatically when a new game is created. It can be accessed again at anytime by clicking on a sign outside the house.
Credits Sequence – Accessible by selecting Betilla's letterbox this causes the game's credits to run, as well as a thank you message to all of the beta testers and child experts who helped to develop it.
Interior:
Options – The options menu, which allows players to adjust the volume of the game, as well as turn the sound effects or music on mute.
The Reward Box – This menu allows players to view all of the prize animations that they have unlocked by completing activities
The Winner's Screen – Players are given access to a results table, where they can track their progress on each activity (not including the French Workshop and bonus activities found within the house)
The Introduction Menu – This menu plays a similar role to the Reward Box, but instead allows players to access all of the introduction animations for each activity
The Colouring Workshop – Accessible by a colouring book found on Betilla's sofa, players can print out black and white images of Rayman and his friends for colouring in. Some copies of the game came with a free pack of colouring pencils, presumably to encourage this.
Piranha World – A bonus activity designed to help children improve their hand to eye co-ordination skills.
Super Moskito – A bonus activity inspired by Space Invaders and starring Bzzit as the player character.
Betilla the Fairy's Sing Along – An animated song set in the Dream Forest, sung by and about Betilla.
Trivia
- An alternate version of the image of Betilla's House appears in a French press release booklet for Rayman 3 on a page regarding the original game. Here, it is shown in an sunset with more vibrant shading.
- If the game is left alone for a while inside the house, Joe the Extra-Terrestrial will briefly appear on the mobile of Saturn hung from the ceiling. This cameo is his only appearance in the game.
