Rayman's shooting ability is exclusive to Rayman 2 where it is used to defeat enemies, activate switches and the like. He is given the power at the start of the game by Ly who gave a Silver Lum to Globox. Globox then gets captured and gets locked in with Rayman, and gives him the Silver Lum. Rayman then destroys a sparadrap covered doorway, so he and Globox can escape the Buccaneer. In Rayman Revolution, he is given his telescopic fist instead, which he first uses to punch down a door, but is finally given the power by a Teensie later on, who was given a Silver Lum by Ly, in the Woods of Light.
Upgrades
Rayman's shooting is upgraded two times by Ly as Rayman progresses through his adventure, from white, to blue, to yellow. He can have an extra upgrade if he collects a golden fist power up. It lasts for 3 hits (every time Rayman gets hurt, one of the 3 will disappear) and if Rayman loses all his golden fists, his fists will return white again. This makes Rayman's fist at its full potential as long as he collects them by finding them in a level, or winning a bonus level. In Revolution, Rayman can also visit the Magic Well to gain more powers such as: rebounding off walls and enemies and gaining accumulation.
