This carnivorous plant is a great lover of plums. Rayman was supposed to make it harmless by throwing enormous plums into its mouth to keep it shut.

The Hoover is a type of carnivorous plant which was planned to make an appearance in Rayman 3. It is described as a great lover of plums. Rayman would have had to render the Hoovers harmless by throwing plums into their mouths to keep them shut. However, this enemy was cut from the final version of the game, for unknown reasons.

The game files contain the textures and animations of an enemy resembling a mechanical carnivorous plant. Most likely designed by the Hoodlums, it consists of a wooden head with a metallic jaw hidden in a wooden box, reminiscent of a jack-in-the-box. The head would pop out of the box as Rayman approached it, and attempt to bite him if he came any closer. It could be neutralized by throwing a plum in its mouth, causing it to return inside the box.

While this enemy is not called Hoover in the game files, it has several similarities with the plant described in the RaymanZone's VIP zone. The only major difference is that the Hoover is described as a plant, not a machine. It is possible that during the development Rayman 3, the Hoover evolved from a plant to a machine, or vice versa.
