Appearance
The Armored Toad resembles a giant toad in a mechanical suit. He also appears to be the only boss in Rayman Legends not to be rendered in 3D in-game, save for the ones in Back to Origins.
In Rayman Legends
Upon being called by a Dark Teensy, the Armored Toad proceeds to attack the heroes by shooting live missiles at them from his hands. In order to damage him, Rayman and his friends must use the Flying Punch they just received from the Elder Teensy to hit him when he is vulnerable. As the fight continues, the Armored Toad loses more of its armour until he ends up practically naked, with only a red thong to cover him. Once defeated, he crashes into a castle, and the castle collapses.

Early concept art suggests that the Armored Toad was initially going to wear a helmet covering his face completely.[2] Another piece of concept art suggests that he would have captured Edith Up, a nymph from Rayman Origins.

The Armored Toad notably makes an appearance in 3D in the E3 2013 trailer for the game, in which he is seen holding Rayman captive, only for Barbara to arrive, break through his army of regular toads, dodge his live missiles and strike him in the chest with her axe, allowing the heroes to escape.

In Rayman: The Board Game
The Armored Toad is set to be included as a Level 1 boss in Rayman: The Board Game. He has the following Boss card and three Special Attack cards:
- Boss card: The Boss has a Movement value of 7. It can be adjusted to 6 or 8 for an easier or harder experience. When the Armored Toad moves and crosses the player’s path, it pushes them back one space in addition to the damage they take.
- Resistance: All enemies require 2 slaps to be defeated until the next round.
- Scream: All players on the 2nd and 3rd levels fall down one level and take damage if they land on an obstacle or enemy.
- Stun: All players in the same column as, or in a column adjacent to, the Armored Toad randomly discard 2 Bonus cards.
The red live missiles that he fires are also set to be included as projectiles.

Notes and references
- ↑ Each of the Armored Toad’s phases takes a seemingly randomized amount of Flying Punches to defeat; on average, however, each takes about 5 rapid-fire Flying Punches to defeat. Since a Flying Punch deals the same damage as a normal slap, he would, on average, take 15 hits to defeat.
