Fish (Eat at Joe's)

Three known species of fish live in the Caves of Skops, and can be encountered in the last phase of Eat at Joe's. Each of these species of fish is modelled after a particular facial feature: the nose, the eyes, and the mouth.

As there are several characters in the game who resemble Rayman (for example: Tarayzan, the Musician), there is also a fish resembling Rayman. These fish with large, Rayman-like noses are helpful and push the buoys with their noses, helping Rayman to cross the water. They are the smallest fish between the three types present in the level.

Large-mouthed fish represent the main danger in this level. They try to bite Rayman when he is in sight, and it is recommended to duck. It is however possible, with perfect timing, to punch them when they jump. They somewhat resemble the piranhas from the earlier levels of the game.

They also appear in the Forest world from the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Rayman Raving Rabbids.

Large-eyed fish are inoffensive and do not interact with anything. They are hardly noticeable, and are fully visible only in the PlayStation version of the game, where the water is transparent. Their function is unclear as they only swim back and forward for a short distance. They may be the signal of a near danger or more probably they serve only as background characters.
