Red Wizard
Red Wizards are a clan belonging to Globox's species. Their name was officially given in Rayman Origins. Most of the Red Wizards are dreary fakirs, who worship Polokus and can usually be found meditating cross-legged in the air, much like the Monks. Rayman's best friend, Globox, was originally a Red Wizard; however, he became blue as a result of some unusual incident, possibly involving blue mosquitoes or poisoned berries.
Appeareance
As members of his species, Red Wizards closely resemble Globox, with webbed feet, a prominent belly, a wide mouth and small eyes. While Globox's body is blue and white, the Red Wizards are dark orange and white in colour, and have long, light-orange beards. They can usually be found levitating cross-legged in mid-air, with their beards dangling to the ground below them; the player characters can grab their beards and swing from them. Other members of their species seem to have no legs at all, their feet floating disconnectedly like Rayman's.
Role in the games
Rayman Origins
In this game, the Red Wizards make their first appeareance and have a major role in the game. Their duty is to assist their master, the Bubble Dreamer, to turn into a real mature god by forcing him to follow the useless ritual of sacrifying peas to stop the nightmares that invade the Glade of Dreams. Mof them stay at the Mystical Pique, practicing acupuncture, levitating and lying on spiky matresses, while others have their huts on stilts above the Sea of Serendipity. In-game, Rayman and friends can use the long beards of the levitating red wizards to swing around, and use the hats of other Red Wizards as platorms to cross spiky matresses safely. Some Red Wizards can be seen being trapped by Darktoons and Rayman can optionally save them. Is unknown if Red Wizards are friends or foes of Rayman and his crew, since they distract their master, and are seen running away from Rayman in one trailer.
Globox can be seen for the first time as he looked before the accident with the mosquito and the blueberries, unlocking Red Globox as a skin.
