Re: Rayman Assets Archive (Textures, Animations, Sounds, Localization and more)
They would ban me in spriter’s resource if I’d mention that I took some sprites from the R.A.A. WHY THE FLIP? >:( ! They just gave me a warning, what do I do? Plus, the sprite is from the ubi-art section :/

Re: Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition
Seriously can't wait to see the new standees! I looove the focus they're putting on acknowledging the franchise's history with those and the new Glade of Dreams map. It just seems so thoughtful, y'know? I'm especially loving the Rayman 1 themed standees -- hoping we'll see the checkpoints from the edutainment games and/or Designer too.

Re: Rayman merchandise
It's like Rayman if he was shaped like the caterpillar you can bounce on from Rayman 3.

Re: Rayman Legends Retold
That's definitely the colosseum. I love the new map. It makes absolutely no sense in context of each game's storyline, but I don't care. They're making something resembling an effort to embrace the established world and history of the Rayman series, for the first time ever in a way many of us thought Origins was trying to do (only to be proven wrong when the game came out), and I'm optimistic.

Does a platformer video game series need a story and lore? No. Are Rayman's previous attempts at story and lore great? Of course not. Yet I don't care, because I love it. Sometimes things are good because they're good things, and other times they can be good just because you like them. Whether or not the former is true in this case is irrelevant to me now because the latter definitely is.

Re: Rayman Legends Retold
Starting at 1:46 here is some interesting footage showing how the game is being made: https://youtu.be/9spxjtLvm_4?t=107
It still runs on the UbiArt engine internally, but the depth planes UbiArt runs on are mapped to curved surfaces in Snowdrop and enhanced with all kinds of 3D stuff. The way this pipeline was created, the developers' tools enable them to run the original UbiArt levels and the newer Snowdrop versions at the same time.

Whether or not this functionality will be available in the final version is anyone's guess. It seems the developers didn't have an answer to give when asked by VGC:
Some players, of course, may prefer the classic 2D look. Given that the two art styles play side by side so seamlessly in-engine, I ask whether players will also be able to toggle between the two art styles at will, Halo-style. “We don’t have an answer to give you on that at this time,” I’m told, somewhat cryptically. Read into that what you will.
Personally, I think it will be very difficult for them because they would have to make acceptable 2D versions of all the new stuff (hub, new levels, real-time cutscenes...), aside from the dragon sections obviously. Since they haven't marketed this switching system yet, I don't expect it. They would want the world to know if such a feature was coming.

Anyway, all this means modding will be quite difficult. To mod a level, you'd have to change the data used by the 2 different engines. I'll obviously try to add support for this (and Origins Enhanced) to my level editor ubi-canvas, but from my experience with Mario+Rabbids, Snowdrop is quite annoying modding-wise as there aren't any good tools for it yet. Even if there were, it would be a pretty tough extra step compared to the original Rayman Legends. Unfortunately, the PC version of this game will also use Denuvo, which will make this hybrid engine harder to reverse-engineer.

By the way, the video linked above describes how the tools/pipeline is mostly handled by Ubisoft Montpellier, whereas the assets, animations etc. are handled by Ubisoft Milan. That makes a lot of sense, as the new designs and cutscenes already felt very Sparks of Hope-y to me.

They were told that the new villain or new story might be important even for the future of the series.
The power of light you gain in the Land of the Livid Dead makes the gameplay a bit more puzzle-like, allowing you can slow down or modify certain elements in the level.

Re: ItzalDrake's Rayman Fan Art
Welcome back Itzal! Please tell Rayman to put his shirt back on! Im begging you! (Looks great lmao)

This looks like the colosseum from RRR1 and the Rabbid ship from the RRR prototype.

True, I was just making the point that the Macarena makes sense to be used in a Spanish-themed world, so it's a more natural fit than "U Can't Touch This" in Teensies In Trouble the Old Teensie Kingdom.

Agreed, that'd be a fun nod to Rayman 3. :)

Re: Rayman Legends Retold
I think they were chosen specifically because they’re so memorable.
Also, Eye of the Tiger has very little to do with the Fiesta de los Muertos :D

It's official: the rumors are now reality! Although many details leaked over the last few days, Ubisoft has formally announced both Rayman Legends Retold and Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition during tonight's State of Play presentation.

Both games are coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on October 1, 2026! The bundle will retail at the price of $39.99, with Origins Enhanced Edition included free!

Rayman Legends Retold represents a significant modernization of the original title. It features a visual overhaul that replaces the classic watercolor look with a modern 2.5D aesthetic, alongside an entirely new storyline and a fresh villain. Other key additions include brand-new music levels, a realistic redesign for Betilla, and a minor cosmetic tweak for Rayman himself (who now has two separate eyes), along with new costumes referencing older games and other series. Most notably, the game is set to introduce fully 3D segments featuring rail-shooter gameplay, where players take to the skies on the back of a dragon to shoot down enemies.

As for Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition, running in 4K resolution at 60 FPS, this remaster updates the game for modern platforms with quality-of-life and accessibility features. It also appears to integrate the previously exclusive PlayStation Vita content, alongside updated photoboard designs and Murfy.

Following up on the teaser from a couple of days ago, Youtooz has now officially revealed the full design of the upcoming Ly the Fairy plush!

But that's not all: the manufacturer also unveiled a brand new Rayman "stickie". For those unfamiliar with the term, Youtooz "stickies" are mini plushies equipped with magnets inside, allowing them to stick to metal surfaces (like fridges or PC cases) or to each other.

You can check out the full reveal images of both the Ly plush and the Rayman stickie below:

The rumors were true! After the rating leak earlier this year, Ubisoft officially unveiled Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition during today’s State of Play. Developed in partnership with Digital Eclipse, the compilation brings together five versions of the original game: the PlayStation, MS-DOS, and Atari Jaguar releases, as well as the Game Boy Color and Advance versions. The collection also marks the first official commercial release of the 1992 SNES prototype.

In terms of extra content, the package notably features the Bible of Game Design, developer interviews, and unreleased concept art. The collection also adds modern quality-of-life features, including rewind capability, save states, and toggleable cheats (infinite lives, unlock all levels).
