Is it very difficult to build a PC in order to do things like edit video or manage large files in Photoshop (without the PC freezing constantly)? Or is it better to find an expert to do that and avoid ruining your own computer?
It's not really that difficult, the main thing you'd have to be careful about while building one is the pins on the motherboard (Intel) or the pins on the CPU (AMD), as you really don't want to bend them. Most things are straight forward though, with the most confusing one usually being plugging in the cables the front I/O (power button, LED's etc.) in the correct order. There's usually a diagram on the website for the motherboard explaining where they go, and the board itself usually has them labelled.

In all seriousness, I don't have much experience with Mac, but they're supposed to be better in terms of reliability, and a lot of people use them for work. The main thing a PC is better for is gaming, but it depends on what you want to use a computer for and whether you play consoles etc. I'm just so used to PC's myself, I like having the option to upgrade components, and they're much cheaper to build than buying a Mac too.

MacOS is similar to Linux in many ways, but with Apple branding. The price point of a Mac is the main thing that puts me off, knowing I can build a PC with similar specs for less than half the price.

Re: Henchman 1000, older or newer model?
I just want to mention that in the Rayman M spanish manual, Henchman 1000 is described as "an older version of the robot pirate, more distinguished, but with the same values as Henchman 1...", and what is weirder is that next to the description of Henchman 800 there is a picture of Henchman 1000.

Re: Mac or PC?
I have used both for a long time (PC for most of my life) and I prefer Mac; better performance, easy to use and no virus (at least based on my experience). The only thing I really dislike about Mac is the price.

Re: Mac or PC?
It's true, MacOS - Can play Rayman Mini, PC - Can play everything else.

Re: Mac or PC?
At least, a Mac will play Rayman Mini.

On August 8th 2003, Pirate-Community was created for all Rayman fans to share their interest and to aggregate the best content about the series. Thirteen years later, we're on the verge of updating the website to a brand new version, with many great features and changes for the community to enjoy. Rayman Adventures is still being updated and played by many fans, new records are reached in Rayman 3, and hope is not lost for a new Rayman game. While the number of messages posted last year, 105,979, for a grand total of 1,155,132, is far from our record, it is still higher than the previous year and we have a good number of active members. RayWiki, available in seven languages, now contains a total of 4479 articles, 130 more than a year ago. RayTunes, now ten years old, is nearly complete, thanks to the many soundtracks added last year: Tonic Trouble (PC version and GBC), Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Fiesta Run and Rayman Adventures.

So, stay tuned for the upcoming updates, long live Rayman, long live Pirate-Community!

RayTunes is nearly 10 years old! It's been a while since the last update, but the music collection on this page is nearly complete - especially with this latest update which includes not one but three new soundtracks.
The first new soundtrack is the long-awaited Tonic Trouble soundtrack (PC version). The soundtrack from the GBC version of the game was also added to the collection, thanks to L.M. Murphy.
Music from Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Fiesta Run and Rayman Adventures was also added to the Rayman Mobile soundtracks section.
A rip of additional music from the Rayman 3 early preview disc is also in progress. Apart from that, we may also add music from the educative games in the future. You can check the forum here for news.

Today marks the twelfth birthday of our community. A new Rayman game, Rayman Adventures, was announced last month and should be available this fall. As for Pirate-Community, 89,132 messages were posted on its forum last year, totalling 1,049,153, over the million milestone for the first time. RayWiki now boasts 4349 articles in seven languages, 1931 more than last year. Several additions were made to RayTunes, notably the new high-quality Rayman 3 soundtrack and the Tonic Trouble and Beyond Good & Evil soundtracks.

Major work is also planned on the website and more information should be available in autumn. In the meantime, we count on you to keep making this place the one and only Rayman community.
