Talk:Armoured Slapdash

Name

Is it really correct to call this an armoured Slapdash? It looks a lot more like the Grim Keeper to me, and the French wiki even lists it as "Paragnon". -- 22:17, 5 August 2020 (CEST)

Have a look at the French Paragnon page also. It says "Un Paragnon de la version Game Boy Advance de Rayman 3". This means it's classed as a Grim Keeper over there too. -- 02:34, 11 August 2020 (CEST)

I agree with what Haruka said on this old talk page.

Let's suppose the Hoodlums of the original Rayman 3 and the ones of the GBA version are reunited in the same army. It would be more logical to meet Grim Keepers with different weapons, and not Slapdashes with different costumes.

Since these enemies look like Grim Keepers, they are identified as Grim Keepers on the French wiki.

Now let's talk about the name.

- BombeVolante -> Flying bomb. Elite is right, it's another name for the helicopter bombs. It has been already used in the French guide of Rayman 2, and later in the files of the UbiArt games.

- Mumu -> I... have no idea of what it is.

- CagoulardBouclier -> "Cagoulard" is the old French name of the Hoodlums. So it's Hoodlum (with) Shield. Shielded Hoodlum. Shielded Hoodboom, as Elite said.

- CagoulardVolant -> Flying Hoodlum. So Hoodstormer, as Elite said.

- BombePiquante -> Spiky bomb. We all know what it is in the GBA version.

- SacPieux -> Stake bag. Looks like the orange spiky things aren't spiky fruits, but bags full of wooden stakes.

If "Shielded Hoodboom", "Armoured Slapdash" and "Armed Spinneroo" need to be renamed, I would said "Hoodboom (Rayman 3 Game Boy Advance)", "Slapdash (Rayman 3 Game Boy Advance)" and "Spinneroo (Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge)", like on the French wiki. It would be better than use terms like "armoured" or "armed".

Of course, "Slapdash (Rayman 3 Game Boy Advance)" can be replaced by "Grim Keeper (Rayman 3 Game Boy Advance)" if we decide to identify them as Grim Keepers.

Another solution: use the game files. "Shielded Hoodboom" can be called "Shielded Hoodlum" and "Armoured Slapdash"... "Charging Hoodlum" or something like that? Like this, we have not to choose between Slapdash and Grim Keeper.

Although we can read in the same game files "Flying Hoodlum", and I don't think it's going to replace Hoodstormer... --Boomboleros7 20:33, 14 August 2020 (CEST)
