The Heart of the World (also known as the Primordial Core) is a location in the Glade of Dreams that is first shown in Rayman 3. It is the world's source of energy, and when it was broken by the Robo-Pirates in Rayman 2, it had split into 1,000 (800 in the PlayStation version) Yellow Lums which scattered around the world. It is located inside the Fairy Council.
As the Heart of the World and the Great Protoon have the same function, it has been speculated that they are in fact the same object; the difference in its appearance can be attributed to its destruction by the Robo-Pirates and subsequent reconstruction by the Teensies.
It was revealed in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2 that the destruction of the Heart of the World was what angered Foutch and drove him mad.
