Raymesis, also known as DarkRay, Rayman Alter Ego and Dark Rayman, is a playable character in Rayman Origins, Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Legends, Rayman Fiesta Run, Rayman Adventures and Rayman Mini.

Description

Raymesis' appearance is very similar to that of Rayman, but with different colouration. He has glowing yellow eyes, a purple tongue, purple-grey skin, purple hair, cyan hood and shoes, light blue gloves, and a dark blue shirt. His name is a portmanteau of “Rayman” and “nemesis”.

Rayman Origins

Raymesis appears in Rayman Origins as a playable character. To unlock him, 220 cages' worth of Electoons are required. In the 3DS version, 150 Electoons are required.

The Bubble Dreamer nicknames him DarkRay and makes fun of his ugliness. He also mentions that he was created by Mr Dark – this is one of the game's few references to the original Rayman antagonist. It is unclear whether the Bubble Dreamer confuses Raymesis with Bad Rayman or simply makes a joke about their resemblance (he looks almost identical to Rayman's evil clone created by Mr Dark in the original game), or if the two are linked in some other way, even them being the same character.

Rayman Jungle Run

Raymesis is part of the three characters available in the downloadable content of Rayman Jungle Run, along with Globox and Raybox.

Rayman Legends

In attempt to tarnish Rayman's reputation, Raymesis dresses like him and stalks the Glade of Dreams smashing things! A desperate case in need of serious anger management.

Raymesis returns as a playable character in Rayman Legends.

This is where his name is revealed, as well as the fact that he is a member of Rayman's species who wants to ruin Rayman's reputation.

Rayman Fiesta Run

Raymesis is also a playable character in Rayman Fiesta Run.

An image of him can be obtained in the gallery. It calls him 'Rayman Alter Ego', while he is named 'Dark Rayman' in the game files.
