Gem (Rayman Adventures)

Gems were collectibles in Rayman Adventures. They could be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money, and then used to buy various cosmetic and utility items, including costumes, elixirs, and beatbox slots.

Acquisition
Gems could be earned through gameplay or purchased with real money via the shop.
- Level completion: Depending on the player's performance, completing a level could yield up to 20 gems.
- Ads: The player could choose to watch an advertisement to receive 10 gems.
- Marathons: In competitive events such as marathons, highly-ranked players were rewarded with gems. For example, in the Summer Marathon, the #1 ranked player received 100 gems, while players in the top 2% received 50 gems.
- Missions and tickets: Completing daily missions awarded the player a lucky ticket. Scratching these tickets provided a chance to win varying amounts of gems.
- Achievements: Most achievements awarded gems upon completion. However, specific achievements such as "Lum-a-holic" or "Seek, and Ye Shall Find" did not grant gems when completed for the first time.
- Shop: Gems could be purchased in various "Special Packs" using real money, such as the Starter Pack or the Relentless Rescuer Pack (which contained 300 gems).
- Sacred Tree rewards: Growing the Sacred Tree would sometimes be rewarded with bonuses that could include gems.
- Adventure completion: Finishing an adventure within a given time limit would reward the player with 5 gems.

Uses
Gems served as the primary currency for speeding up progress or unlocking content.
Creatures and eggs
- Elixirs: Gems were used to buy elixirs, including the New Creature Elixir, Gold Elixir, and Silver Elixir.
- Hatching: If the player did not have Time Elixirs, gems could be used to instantly hatch an egg. The cost depended on the remaining wait time.
- Revealing rarity: For 100 gems, the Captain could reveal the rarity of an egg on the world map before the level was played.
Level assistance
- Revives: Upon the first game over in a level, the player could pay 10 gems to be revived. A second game over increased the price to 20 gems, and a third one raised the cost to 50 gems.
- Extensions: If an adventure ran out of time, 5 gems could be spent to extend the current adventure by one hour.
- Food: If the player ran out of food for their creatures, they could purchase 10 units of food for 30 gems.
Unlockables
- Costumes: Gems were required to purchase new skins for the heroes. Prices varied significantly, with some costing 150 gems, others 500, and exclusive costumes costing as much as 3,000 gems.
- Beatbox tracks: Players could purchase extra beatbox slots to save musical tracks created with the Incrediballs in the Sacred Tree.
