The Great Lava Pursuit is the fifth level of Olympus Maximus, the fifth world in Rayman Legends. It is the second level in this world where the player is assisted by Murfy. They also meet the fifth Dark Teensy.

Description

The heroes land in a rocky labyrinth area with bodies of lava below. Minotaurs can be seen moving around on the rocky mountains in the background. The Elder Teensy grants the team the power to use the Flying Punch as they approach the lava. Shortly after, they encounter the fifth Dark Teensy, torturing the girl Teensie like the previous ones. Upon spotting the heroes, he straps the girl to his mechanical vehicle and rides away; the team must chase after him. They call on Murfy to move flying shields to block the continuous fireballs and to get by the larger gaps of lava.

As the chase continues, flames appear from above and below. Rocky platforms collapse and sink into the lava, and Minotaurs appear on metal platforms in the air. Soon after, the first secret area can be found. It is located at the top, where a flying shield can be moved upwards.

After dropping down and avoiding the many flames, the heroes continue to close in on the Dark Teensy, while battling Minotaurs with the Flying Punch. The second secret area is located at the top. A flying shield will take the players to it. Pure red lava bursts begin to appear. A Skull Coin is next to one. Eventually, the girl Teensie pokes the nose of the Dark Teensy and escapes to the heroes. The level is completed.

Queen Teensie area

Murfy needs to rotate a small platform so the heroes will avoid the fireballs being shot from turrets.

Murfy needs to move the flying shields for the team to reach the cage as they battle Red Minotaurs. A Skull Coin is in this area.

Invaded

This level is invaded by enemies from the Fiesta de los Muertos, including Mariachis and spiky snakes. It also features the flute snakes from Rayman Origins, but their colors are slightly modified.

Unlike the other levels, it is unlocked once the player(s) succeed to free enough Teensies in the invaded levels. Of course, the original level must be unlocked.

The exact location of this level in the normal one is unknown. In this one, Murfy can't use shields to help his friends. Instead, flute snakes emerge from the lava and allow the player(s) to ride them and proceed to free the three Teensies. They have to avoid spiky snakes, lava and lavaroots, and defeat some Mariachis.

This level is also the only one with a five-skull difficulty not invaded by Dark Rayman.
