Rayman Legends Retold, also known as Rayman Legends: Retold, is an unannounced Rayman game that leaked in late May 2026. It is reportedly a remaster of Rayman Legends. The game allegedly has a retail price of $39.99 and a targeted release date of October 1, 2026.[1] Among the expected new features, the game is said to include an online cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players, a notable evolution from the original game which only supported local multiplayer. A physical edition is reportedly in development, allegedly exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and the rumored Nintendo Switch successor.[2]

Rumors suggested that the game would be officially unveiled and made available for pre-order no later than June 2, 2026, just hours before a Sony State of Play presentation.[3] If true, this timeline would contradict other rumors claiming the game would be revealed during the Sony event itself.

The title reportedly incorporates both traditional 2.5D mechanics and new 3D sections.[4] These three-dimensional segments are said to be entirely new additions not found in the original game, allegedly featuring Star Fox-style rail-shooter gameplay where the player flies on the back of a dragon to shoot enemies. Furthermore, a developer reportedly confirmed that the internal project name for the game is "Steambot". As the game remains officially unannounced, all information regarding its content and release remains unconfirmed.

On June 2 several new in-game images were leaked by a california website. The page was later taken down at an unknown time.

Story

The game reportedly features an entirely new storyline and antagonist, who is stated not to be Mr Dark. This new villain is described as a hooded figure attempting to conjure an apocalyptic eclipse. He allegedly looks completely different from Mr Dark and takes orders from a larger, unseen antagonist who communicates via a mysterious orb.

As in the original game, Rayman and Globox allegedly discover a mysterious tent filled with captivating paintings that transport them to new mythical worlds. In one of these new dimensions, the heroes reportedly fight dragons and other epic creatures, utilizing combat mechanics that allow for attacks from all angles. Betilla is said to appear as a goddess with a redesigned, more realistic appearance, departing from her cartoony design seen in Rayman Origins and the original Rayman.

Worlds

Leaks mention the inclusion of a new musical world. In these stages, players allegedly jump to the beat of a drum, punch to a bass line, and zip-line during guitar riffs, relying on timing and rhythm to complete maps set to original musical tracks. This gameplay style appears similar to the Living Dead Party world from Rayman Legends. The overall level design is expected to remain faithful to the original game, but with updated 2.5D visuals.

Teensies In Trouble

3 of the leaked in game images take place in teensies in trouble. One of them looks to be in the haunted castle theme but this remains a rumor.

Characters

Rayman allegedly features a minor redesign, with two separate eyes, more detailed shoes, and adjustments to his sweater's drawstrings. Both Rayman and Globox are said to receive new skins, including classic appearances from Rayman and Rayman 3, as well as crossover costumes based on franchises such as Astro Bot and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
