Swimming with Stars

Revision as of 16:24, 19 March 2017 by RayCarrot (talk | contribs) (Added images)

Swimming with Stars is the second level of the Sea of Serendipity, the fourth world in Rayman Origins. The characters in this level will swim for most of the time, in light and dark areas; the latter requiring stars providing light to avoid the tentacle claws. Despite the level being the first from this world and twenty-fourth overall that's included in the Back to Origins mode in Rayman Legends, the first playable level in the mode is Freaking Flipper.

Area 1

As Rayman and his team drops down into the water, the tune the friendly fishes sing plays again, despite the fact that the fishes are not present. A new enemy appears in this area, Sea anemone. Most of them throughout the world can be temporarily killed by hitting the blue column shaped bulb connected to them. The team will need to get to the exit while avoiding these anemones.

Area 2

A Skull Coin guarded by another group of jellyfish.

The fish singing tune ends, and a more sinister tune plays. The team will need to advance by swimming downwards, avoiding more groups of Sea anemone and spikes sticking out from the walls. The first Skull Coin can be found by going through a very small gap between two platforms on the far right of the area. Continuing to move down, the second Skull Coin can be collected by waiting for the jellyfish to spread out away from the coin. The team can now move on to the exit.

Area 3

As the place gets darker, the players will have to keep swimming downwards. From the beginning, giant jellyfish appear throughout the area. The third Skull Coin can be collected by waiting for a lone jellyfish to move out of the way of a tight gap, then swimming down to get it. The heroes can now go to the exit, avoiding some spikes sticking out along the way.

Area 4

The glowing fish will follow the player.

Tentacle claws are scared of light.

Now it's completely dark, but fortunately a group of creatures that have light surrounded by them move next to the team. These are useful for advancing past the dark cavern, to scare away the tentacle claws. The players will have to be quicker than usual in continuing, because the lighted creatures won't last long. The first secret area can be found by going around a long Sea anemone upwards. After that, the heroes can find their way to the exit.

Secret Area 1

In front of the team are a bunch of blocks. The green ones can be destroyed. The brown crates cannot, and will have to be avoided if they start to fall. And the TNT crates which the player needs to move away from quickly if they attack it. There are also Blowfish which will need to be defeated in order to brake open the Electoon cage.

Area 5

This time, there are no creatures with light surrounded around them. But, there are lone fishes with limited amount of light around them. This will make it tougher to avoid the nearby tentacle claws. Rayman and his friends will also aid the light from an Anglerfish. The fourth Skull Coin can be found by going down to a dim lighted spot with a group of horizontal moving jellyfish. Next, the team comes to a lighted area filled with Lums, jellyfish, and a Lum King. If the players go straight up, they will end up collecting the fifth Skull Coin of the level. The group of friends will now aid the help of another anglerfish to get across to the exit.

Area 6

Back to using the little creatures for light, the team is now in an tighter area filled with Sea anemones, tentacle claws, and jellyfish. The sixth Skull Coin can be retrieved by avoiding some sea anemones close to a another spot filled with lighted creatures. After that, the players can advance to the exit.

Area 7

Similar to the fifth area, the heroes will have to be more careful, using the green fish's light as well as an Anglerfish to advance. If the players continue on, and use a couple of green fishes to go down to a tight gap, they will find the second secret area. The exit is not too far away, close to more green fishes.

The green stationary fish will provide light.

Secret Area 2

There are a lot of Blowfish in this area, but there's a giant jellyfish that will follow the team in order to hurt them. Once all of the orange fishes are destroyed, the cage will be able to be broken.

Area 8

The final area has four Redfish protecting the cage.

In this lighted up area, all the heroes need to do is defeat the four Redfish in order to brake open the Electoon cage to end the level. The players will then pose on the photoboard as the Magician waits for the total amount of Lums that were collected in the level.

Back to Origins

This level is playable in the Back to Origins mode in Rayman Legends as the second one from Sea of Serendipity, the first being Freaking Flipper. It is renamed Swimming with the Stars. There aren't many notable differences between the versions; except the notable differences that appear in every other Back to Origins level.
