The aim of the board game is to be the first to collect 10 or 20 trophies (depending on how many are selected), and then make it back to the central circle once the required number of trophies are obtained. Up to four players can play the main board game, but minigames can only be played by up to two players at a time, regardless if they are controlled by a human or by computer.

In this mode, the player can play the minigames which appear in the Trophy Race once they have been unlocked, but has to collect coins in order to unlock extras such as video clips. Each minigame, as well as variants of it, has three coins to collect, one of which would appear periodically as the minigame is played. If the player wins the game but does not collect all the coins, only the number of coins collected is added to the total, and the game must be played again in order to obtain all three coins. If the player loses the minigame, even if they have collected all three coins, the coins are not added to the total. A total of 87 coins are available to collect, although 85 of those are required to unlock the available extras. One variant of Pyrobang has to be unlocked through the use of UPlay.
