Description
El Luchador is a giant, gray version of the Luchadores. He has several accessories on him, such as a belt with a large "K" emblazoned on it, a ring on his finger that also has a "K" on it, and a tattoo on his left arm that spells out "King". In Rayman Legends Retold, El Luchador has visible chest hair.
He appears to be a champion of his arena, though not an undefeated one; Rayman and his friends defeated him during the events of Rayman Legends, not unlike Reflux the Knaaren from Rayman 3. He also appears to be a popular figure in the Fiesta de los Muertos world, since the cans of lava-like salsa and large platforms seen in his boss fight are decorated with his head.
El Luchador appears to take pride in his status as a famous champion, beckoning the crowd of Mariachis to cheer for him during the intro to and third round of his fight. He also seems to enjoy battling challengers, laughing boisterously whenever he performs an attack, regardless of whether he lands the hit or not. He does not appear to care much for the Mariachis themselves, however, not hesitating to bubblize them if they get in the way of his attacks.
In Rayman Legends
At the start of his boss fight, El Luchador rises from the background, striking a pose before hyping up the crowd of Mariachis as the arena fills with lava.
During the first round of the fight, El Luchador slams his hand onto a corner of the platform, knocking the heroes into the air. Each time he does so, a wooden platform falls from the sky, either sinking in the lava or landing onto the main platform. If the latter happens, El Luchador swipes it off of the arena, regardless of what or who was on top of it. After a few of these attacks, a Champibumper lands in the arena, giving the heroes an opportunity to land on his head and perform a crush attack to damage him. If they take too long to do so, however, El Luchador slowly claps his hands above him and crushes them. With each hit that he takes, the wrestler takes less time to clap his hands together, giving the heroes less time to deal a hit to him.
El Luchador growls as the second round begins and a row of platforms appear beneath the heroes. He follows the heroes with his fist and, after a second of preparation, slams it onto the platform beneath it, plunging it into the lava. Once only one platform is left, another Champibumper is made available for the heroes to deal another hit to his head.
The final round begins with El Luchador slamming his hand onto the main platform from the first round and sinking it into the lava. From there, he laughs and beckons the crowd to cheer for him as the heroes dodge the fireballs and lavaroots that emerge from the lava. The platform returns from the lava periodically, but El Luchador does not take very long to slam his hand onto it and sink it once again. Eventually, he tries to swipe his hand through the air to hit the heroes, but if he misses, another Champibumper appears from the lava, letting them bounce onto his head and deal one final blow to him. Dazed, El Luchador roars one last time as he falls into the background, his eyeballs falling out of their sockets before going down with him.

In Rayman Legends Retold
El Luchador returns in Rayman Legends Retold, reprising his role as the boss of the Mystic Mesa. Like the game's other bosses, his eyes initially glow purple, signifying that he is under the corruptive control of the game's new main villain.

Trivia
- An early concept art shows that El Luchador was originally known as "El Chili."
- El Luchador is the only boss in Rayman Legends (excluding the Back to Origins bosses) that does not require the Flying Punches to defeat.
- L'Histoire de Rayman reveals that the sounds of the Mariachis' encouragement in El Luchador's fight and the crowd cheering heard in his boss theme - which are likely done by the crowd of Mariachis in-universe - were done by members of the Rayman Legends development team.[2]
- El Luchador was considered for inclusion as a final boss in Rayman: The Board Game, but he lost the popular vote to Grunderbite during the Kickstarter campaign.
- Despite this, FLYOS has hinted that he may return to the game at some point in the future.[3]
