A Livingstone, as seen in the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids

Livingstones, also known as Explorators, are the most common enemies found in the Dream Forest, the first world in the original Rayman game. They also appear in the Forest world in the Game Boy Advance adaptation of Rayman Raving Rabbids. There, they are capable of throwing their hats as an attack.

They are averagely-resistant enemies who freely wander on their platform, turning backwards when they face an obstacle. Rayman must simply avoid contact with them. If not eliminated in one hit, they go crazy and start running until they fall into water.

Besides Rayman's fists, there are two other ways to get rid of them. The first one consists in pulling a grimace, which will frighten them and make them run as if they got punched, and the second one in throwing a plum at their head. They will then appear to become drowsy or intoxicated and continue walking as usual, but it will be possible to jump onto the plums on their head and use them as walking platforms to reach higher places.

In Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, Rayman must occasionally throw a plum onto a post to create a platform in order to progress. These posts bear images of Livingstones on them, in reference to the role they played in the original Rayman game.

Several Livingstones also appear briefly in the trailer for the upcoming Rayman Origins, where Rayman is seen slapping them out of the way and blowing their clothes off with his helicopter. This indicates that they may be enemies in the final game, presumably playing roles similar to their own in the original game.
