This race track only contains the Training mode. The landscape is, unlike the twelve main race tracks which feature a ''[[Rayman 2: The Great Escape|Rayman 2]]''-related theme, a 3D skeleton. Born To Slide is the third Bonus League race course in Rayman M, where it can be unlocked by completing all challenges in the Extreme League. In the Xbox and GameCube versions of Rayman Arena, where it is called Speed Stress (not to be confused with the race course of the same name in Rayman M), it is the first of four bonus levels available in the Exhibition menu and becomes playable when the Beginner League in the Obstacle Racing mode is completed.

Description

Rayman M

This race track contains only the Training mode for single-player play and the standard Race mode for multiplayer one. In the Traing mode, a reprise of Rayman's theme is played in the background, no matter which character has been chosen to play with.

The map provides a straight-forward obstacle course stylized for a corridor made of a bright green 3D mesh. Its level structure can vary as long as the player keeps replaying the race course, since it is made of ten parts (twelve with the start and finish sections)[1] generated in random order, just like Future. It contains normal and inverted speed arrows, pink bumpers, climbing walls, red "mud" and a large number of slippery paths in various shapes. Multiple blocks, pillars, and ramps serve as obstacles as well.

Rayman Arena

The course can be played only in the Time Attack mode (the Exhibition variant in single-player mode and the standard one in multiplayer mode). It contains two checkpoint lines, which provide the player with the time necessary to finish the course.

The visuals have been changed a little: the landscape in this version resembles a more cartoony blue and yellow mesh. The track is located in space, and some planets can be seen. The level structure has remained mostly the same, with the addition of one segment consisting of translucent pink walls and slippery paths hung in the air. Although the sections of the course are generated in random order, the level always starts with the same one.

Trivia

  • The space landscape of the Rayman Arena version was a creative decision probably made at the late stage of game development, as the menu icon of the level features just a retextured track from Rayman M.
  • The French version of Rayman M and Rayman Arena, unlike other versions, does not differentiate between the names "Born to Slide" and "Extreme Slide", naming both tracks "Glisse Extrême". In the French versions, there is a difference in the naming of "Speed Stress", though: the last level in Rayman M is called "Vive Adrénaline", while the name of "Speed Stress" in Rayman Arena is "Vive l'Adrénaline".
