Arriving at the Space Opera Network
The game begins with Rayman arriving at the Space Opera Network, holding a golden ticket decorated with phonograph horns. He arrives in the Repository, a location which serves as an introductory level with where the player is familiarized with the mechanics of the game.
Rayman first advances through the area using ladders and ramps, where he can break a number of boxes with his telescopic fist to release coins. Then, he must use his grappling fist to pick up a black cube with yellow veins from a distant platform, and insert it into a switch to disintegrate a gate blocking his path.
This leads him to a Rabbid wearing a cloak and a skull mask called a Stooge. He then exclaims that he knew that the invitation was fishy, and that a Rabbid was behind it, and the player is subsequently tasked with choosing the level of difficulty of the game.

Old Acquaintances

The first battle of the game, Old Acquaintances, then begins, first pinning him against a trio of Goombas that he can defeat with a single dash. Rayman then has to use his grappling fist on a flying ring to reach a second platform, where he is now able to use either his Blaster or his Plunger Guard against a Stooge and defeat it. He then repeats the process and wins the battle after defeating the second Stooge.

This is followed by another battle, Learning to Glide, where Rayman can now use his Vortex costume. When enabled, this modifies his moveset, allowing him to use the Vortex Blaster, the Vortex Guard and the Vortex Pull, and provides him with passive resistance to damage. He must now defeat another three Goombas and two Stooges.

A third battle, Rocket Man, then begins. Rayman now has access to his Rocket costume, which allows him to use the Rocket Blaster, the Rocket Ride and the Rocket Guard, and provides him with passive immunity to super-effects. The latter proves useful against the fire-based attacks of the first Flamin' Stooge he encounters. He must reach the end of the area, protected by another three Stooges, in order to win the battle.

Towards the Network Reception
Back to the exploration phase, Rayman must now punch another switch to disintegrate a second gate, and use the exit door to leave the Repository and enter the next room, the Network Reception. There, he comes across Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach and Beep-0, who seem to be in the process of checking in. Rabbid Peach aims her Triple-Troll weapon at Rayman while Rabbid Mario greets him with a handshake, but the latter falls unconscious when Rayman's hand is pulled from his body. Rabbid Peach then thoroughly observes Rayman's absence of arms and legs, leading him to push her aside.
Beep-0 then intervenes, assuring Rayman, whom he calls "Mr. Eggplant", that they are not "run-off-the-mill Rabbids", but heroes. Before they can discuss the situation further, they are ambushed by Goombas and Stooges, and join forces against them.

Unlikely Team-Up

The battle, Unlikely Team-Up, then begins. This unlocks Beep-0's Tacticam, as well as all of Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach's abilities, including the Sparks from the main game, on top of which Selfie and Cryoquake are now available. The heroes are pinned against nine Goombas, two Stooges, two Squashettes and one Deep Freeze, which they must defeat to win the battle.

The beginning of the battle
Rayman and the Rabbids introduce themselves to each other and find out that they have all received the same invitation. They praise each other's fighting abilities and decide to team up for the time being. Immediately afterwards, an elevator comes down into the room, and the Phantom comes out of it and towards them. Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach, recognizing the enemy they previously fought in the Spooky Trails area of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, are held back by Rayman as they try to attack him, and the Phantom reveals a bouquet of flowers, appeasing the Rabbids. He goes on to explain that he is now a changed person, no longer corrupted by the Megabug, and that he needs their help to restore the studio's ratings as his actors have left him. The Rabbids are instantly convinced by the Phantom's promises of fame and glory, and while Beep-0 is initially reluctant, he is eventually won over by flattery. The heroes are then tasked with performing in three different locations, the Western Set, the Medieval Set and the Pirate Set. This concludes the first quest of the game.
