Rayman: You?!! I presume you're Foutch, the guardian of Beneath The Sanctuary Of Rock and Lava and the Sanctuary of Lava?! IS THAT RIGHT!!?? Foutch: Yes. And you, are you Rayman? The Mask Thief!?? Rayman: What?! Me?! A thief? I'm not a thief, you are; I need the masks to rid the world of robot pirates. Foutch: Well, I say that you are a thief; a thief and a liar, to boot, prepare to die. Rayman: But... how come he's completely crazy!?!

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Foutch is a boss in Rayman 2: The Great Escape. He is the Guardian of the third mask of Polokus, which is found Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, and is the most aggressive of the Guardians. It was revealed in the PS1 version by the Teensies that Foutch isn't supposed to be very aggressive, but the destruction of the Heart of the World has driven him insane.

Strategy

Foutch begins his attack on Rayman by punching him with enough force to make him lose his flying power which he had just been given by Ly. He would then chase Rayman and throw horizontal and vertical beams of fire in an attempt to burn him. He can be defeated by having stalactites broken off and falling on top of him like with Axel, though this time it would take three times to defeat him. He is the only Guardian to bear a large number of Red Lums upon his defeat.

And he's hot. Very hot. If you do a glitch in Rayman 2: The Great Escape for Nintendo 64, you'll be able to escape from him, and get the third mask, if he's not going to chase you. You can do it in other versions of Rayman 2: The Great Escape for PC, N64, DS, and it can be tricky in Rayman 2: Revolution for PlayStation 2.
