The Canopy

The Canopy is a level in Rayman 2: The Great Escape and its remakes. In all versions of the game, it is where Rayman meets Globox for the second time in the game, and the power of his Magic Fist is upgraded by a Silver Lum. In all versions except Rayman Revolution, it is the ninth level in the game.
The Canopy shares its name with another level in Rayman Rush, but the two are distinctly separate.
Original versionPhase 1This area is a chasm full of giant cobwebs, and before long, Rayman is being stalked by a giant spider ( Phase 2Globox is being held prisoner in the area, but first, Rayman will have to defeat a red Henchman 800 ( Down the passage, another red Henchman 800 ( Phase 3Rayman and Globox come out into the open, but a warship appears, sending Globox into hiding again. Dreamcast versionThe Canopy remains identical with the Dreamcast version. | ||||||||||||||||||||
PlayStation versionThe level is mostly identical. The only difference is that it features a breif cutscene in which Globox informs Rayman he has to see Uglette, as opposed to the other version which have this exchange during the player's control of Rayman. | ||||||||||||||||||||
PlayStation 2 versionThe Canopy in this version of the game stays fairly the same as that in previous versions, with the exception that the Teensie cage does not count towards the total number of cages in the game. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Trivia
Game Boy Color versionIn Rayman 2 Forever, the Game Boy Color adaptation, the Canopy directly follows the Cave of Bad Dreams, and this is where the second Mask of Polokus is located. |
